  1. So sending out a tweet = caring about on field product, even though they’re at .500 and out of the playoffs, but his personality that is pretty public can’t leave us to believe he’s pretty hands on? of course. i'm not saying you were wrong. i was asking. Hey sorry dude I didn’t mean to come across as like antagonistic or anything. I wish our owners wanted good players too. Cohen just seems very hands on and I thought it was ironic that he was complaining about his own offense that just added Javier Baez when I’m sure he Ok’d that deal it wasn't antagonistic at all. i was just imagining it as him hiring the baseball people and then being pissed that they built a shitty team. also i didn't know how much of scumbag he is, so i was giving him the benefit of the doubt i guess.
  2. I know who steve cohen is but I didnt know anything about him being extra hands on with actually trades and signings and stuff like that. how many owners actually are?
  3. the guy who constructed the team is complaining about the structure of the team we're allllll trying to find the guy who did this was he more involved in constructing the team than a typical owner?
  4. i wish we had an owner that cared about the product on the field
  5. bryant/rizzo/baez were only worth like a combined 5-6 wins with the cubs this season. madrigal already makes up for what baez was doing. So now we just need to replace Bryant, Rizzo, and Kimbrel to get back to a sub-.500 team. it's like posts just go in one ear and out the other
  6. If you truly believe there's nothing we can do until 2024, why are we wasting money and prospects on dudes who will be 34, 33, and 32 on opening day 2024, and then spending 'big money' on Stroman (will be a month shy of 33) or Rodon (31)? You've got $80m coming off the books, you've got Heyward in 2 years, and you aren't scheduling any big paydays for your internal guys anytime remotely soon. Use the freed up cash, get the team to project to .500, and reassess next June on if you want to wait for the teenagers or use them to get big league talent. There is no way PTR is going to spend enough money this offseason to get the Cubs to .500. The Cubs were struggling to play .500 when they still had Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, and Kimbrel. bryant/rizzo/baez were only worth like a combined 5-6 wins with the cubs this season. madrigal already makes up for what baez was doing.
  7. why is len doing the TV broadcast every time I turn on a white sox game?
  8. i would love javy back if he's getting paid like a 3-win player
  9. They having a losing stink to them now. We’ll have to a premium to get someone like Seager. idk why anyone is even getting their hopes up of us adding somebody like seager
  10. can't wait for jed to walk back that statement about the current struggles not affecting the spending timeline. we're like 2 weeks away from some vague statements about how there's a long way to go, and that there are no shortcuts i don't care about moving up in the draft. just stop being so gd embarrassing every single night
  11. alcantara single handedly keeping the losing streak alive with 3 errors
  12. Though I'd prefer that Ricketts sell to someone with deeper pockets, I cant get behind the hate for him. Without Ricketts, there's no Theo, the catalyst to the greatest stretch of Cubs baseball of our lifetime, and perhaps the most thrilling 3 innings in baseball history (need I elaborate?) Granted, they've been dropping the ball ever since, but I think I'm at peace with it. they do not get credit for allowing a hall of fame executive to pick them, give me a horsefeathering break. theo came.to the cubs because of the opportunity it represented, not because of the horsefeathering ricketts.
  13. i don't think i've ever felt worse about the state of the cubs
  14. the last inning was awesome
  15. look at his header pic
  16. the guy who came onto the court may be the biggest [expletive] I've ever seen. I didnt know he initially did the stretcher bit.
  17. it's kind of sickening that the stadium is still packed.
  18. duker still believes
  19. if the brewers and white sox play in the world series, who would you rather lose?
  20. While not directly named, there was a fan accused of repeatedly shouting a racist term at a player. There are videos of that fan, and people can figure out who he is. While perhaps a bit odd that he was so intent on getting a mascot's attention, he didn't deserve to be labeled a racist. Again, get the facts straight before issuing public statements. I'd virtually guarantee he has been identified by internet nuts and I'm sure, even after he was proven innocent, that he's being threatened and harassed. yeah you can't guarantee that, and it's probably not even true
