  1. Yes, I see your plan and hope it works ---- Yeah, Casali seems fine, spent last year with SF and SEA. Perez was hurt last year after signing with the Pirates we still kinda whiffed, the 3-4 win player we got is just a consolation prize
  2. it sucks that hoyer is absolutely terrified of giving up prospects in trades
  3. the worst possible thing would be peterman leading them to a win
  4. a human adult
  5. this is such a lazy comp Just saying that Heyward was coming off of three straight high fWAR years before signing with the Cubs, when he then immediately turned into a pumpkin. Correa has already had some back problems, so he's a gamble. None of us know how any of this will turn out, though, so we're all just arguing to argue. wait, you were comparing correa to heyward? that's even weirder
  6. seems like he's being paid for 3-4 wins, not the 6+ he had last year
  7. Correa is a lot better than Swanson. And could end up being the next Heyward, but we'll see. this is such a lazy comp
  8. gdi brett
  9. samsonite.....i was way off
  10. that cerami guy actually kind of broke it
  11. I was not expecting the white sox to have the biggest signing in chicago this offseason
  12. I think that’s a pretty solid deal, he’s only 28. Think he’s good for a 9%BB/17K% and like a .270-.290/.340-.360/.420-.440 slash line. Don’t know why happened to the power last year but he has 17, 16 and 20 HR seasons, which is plenty fine if he can get back there and keep his typical slash line/underlying stuff. Plus he makes above average contact. I think it’s fair to project him as a 2-3 win dude most years with maybe a flash for a 4+ if the power comes back/outlier defense year. I meant somehow in that it's the biggest free agent contract in white sox history
  13. benintendi somehow got 5 years with the white sox
  14. Scoring runs is passé it does feel like jed's real plan is pitching depth and cheap defensive position players
  15. i don't get how we're going to add position players. we whiffed this year, next year is all pitching, and jed is terrified to make trades. not to mention happ will get expensive if he has another good year.
  16. pretty cheap, i guess we can't do 6 year deals either
  17. but wembanyama won't be available then
  18. can the cubs realistically get to even 81 projected wins without swanson?
  19. they're like the blackhawks but somehow 2 years behind
  20. but why? even if Lonzo miraculously comes back, they are a 45-50 win team with no hopes of a championship, and demar is going to start falling off a cliff here pretty soon. Well mainly based off my belief this FO isnt a tanking type. So treading for a year is better than trying to fix it (potentially having to use up more assets) If they wanted to blow it up, it's mainly for the tank. I doubt they can get a lot of high quality picks back. It would just be setting up for losses. i don't think they are either. i think reinsdorf told them to build a quick playoff-ish team and that it doesn't matter if they're contenders. they'll probably do whatever they can to re-tool and try to get back to 45 wins
  21. really it doesn't matter., because every path they can take right now sucks
  22. but why? even if Lonzo miraculously comes back, they are a 45-50 win team with no hopes of a championship, and demar is going to start falling off a cliff here pretty soon.
