  1. LOL seriously? They "burned" Samardzija... probably knowing that he'd be off until his start on Wednesday anyway. Two other guys had pretty standard one-inning appearances (Heilman, Grabow), and the entire backend got the night off (Guzman, Marmol, Gregg). i like how you leave out marshall
  2. And to think we could have traded him straight up for Tejada. or maybe even a player who was worth prior at the time
  3. I dont think that means what you want it to. no, you just don't understand the context. he thinks that i dislike hamilton because i didn't think he was an mvp candidate last season. thus, i despise every player that i don't think is an mvp candidate. i hate you so much, brian mccann. you're no mvp. you're just good.
  4. why? i like josh hamilton. reading comprehension > you sorry, i dont revel in other's misfortunes a) but i do? no. now you're just making things up b) you don't, really? really? then what do you call constantly making fun of dead people?
  5. what a complete joke
  6. why? i like josh hamilton. reading comprehension > you
  7. I meant that as in "he's not THAT good". An .850 OPS is good, but nothing special (when he seems to have a reputation of being some stud hitter)... especially for a corner outfielder.
  8. Alex Rios might be the most overrated player in baseball. Even when he's good, he's not that good. screw you wilken
  9. Randy Johnson is better than Jason Hammel, but otherwise you're right. isn't randy johnson done for the season?
  10. And where would he play? It's an away game, so he'd never get in the game. You'd pinch-hit for him in the first inning, and that would push the first at-bat by the real starting pitcher back by an inning. then you'd have the real starting pitcher batting right in the middle of the lineup for the rest of the game
  11. there's no way to possibly know who will be pithcing well at the end of the season, so it wouldn't make sense to speculate anything right now. wells could fall off the face of the earth between then and now. lilly could be throwing 87 and getting rocked. dempster could be dominating. we have no idea right now.
  12. I understand the thought of why you would want Soriano to move back to the top BBB (best hitters getting the most at-bats). If so, why would you want to move Lee down to 5 when he's consistently had an OPS around 1.000 for the last 3+ months? The lineup balance is the same either way..if you swapped Lee and Bradley, Bradley would be separating Lee and Soto instead of separating Ramirez and Lee (or Lee and Ramirez if you prefer the current version) My thought process is to kickstart the guys who need it most. Lee will still hit in the 5 spot, but we really need Bradley and Fukudome to get hot, and having the two hottest bats behind them could get them some better pitches to hit. You need Fukudome to get hot? .344/.455/.547 post ASB isn't doing it for you? Leave him at leadoff, no question. I don't understand why anybody would try and slide Soriano back up to leadoff. His days are done there. It's probably best to get past that silly story. Funny, I could swear this thread was called the "what would your batting order be", not the "Let's rip apart BigbadB's batting order". Well you said your thought process in your lineup was to "kick start the guys who need it most", and one of those two guys you were talking about that "needs it most" has been raking for weeks now. You kind of set yourself up there.
  13. explain. i know weaver did something like this but i dont remember
  14. kotchman's home run was hilarious
  15. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?pos=P&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=543803 i say we trade for this guy immediately
  16. You'd be well advised to pay more attention in the future before you falsely accuse someone of making a personal attack against you. are you calling me an [expletive]? I believe that's what NC was implying in not so many words. arent you supposed to be a moderator?
  17. You'd be well advised to pay more attention in the future before you falsely accuse someone of making a personal attack against you. wow, i already apologized. forgive me for jumping to conclusions when the poster in question has a history of calling me names when unprovoked.
  18. There's a difference between "most effective slider" and "best slider". It's possible Dempster has the most effective, but he doesn't have the best.
  19. You seriously think that just because he donates to charity that automatically means he can't be an a-hole or a bad person? SERIOUSLY?
  20. I like how that punk Villanueva tries to act tough as they're walking away.
  21. Considering this is his second year of year round baseball. And he's never spent a full year in the minors despite coming out of college being extremely raw. I'd say it's safe to say he was rushed. I already went over this. I already admitted he was rushed to the majors. But like I said, that's not what I'm basing my opinion on. I'm basing my opinion on his crappy minor league numbers. He wasn't rushed when he was getting lit up at A+ at age 22 and at AA at 23. Anyways, even an unpolished/learning pitcher who is supposed to have strikeout stuff misses bats. Something Samardzija hasn't done in his minor league career. Oh and this is not his second year of year round baseball. Not sure where that came from. Plus it's a weak excuse anyways.
  22. Word. If that's true then my apologies. I didn't even see that
  23. All good points until the end. No one called you the 'D word'. i thought it was pretty clear he was implying it when he said this-
  24. "Incredibly rushed"? Really? He's 24 and didn't even hit AAA until last season. Maybe he's been rushed to the majors (considering he sucks), but I'm not even looking at his major league numbers to determine he sucks. I'm looking at his minor league numbers. Was he rushed when he was getting destroyed in A+ at age 22? How about when he sucked at AA at age 23? Rushed? He only has 219 k's in 352.2 career minor league innings.... and less than a third of those innings are past AA. That's pretty terrible for a guy who also has crappy control. The most success he's had was at ages 23 and 24 in AAA when he put up WHIPs of like 1.30. Neat. For a guy who got a big signing bonus and a NTC... yeah, he sucks. You can keep calling me the D word though if it makes you feel better.
