  1. You probably said that going into 2008 too. Plus there's still tons of time left this offseason and no team outside maybe the Phillies looks good right now. If the Cardinals resign Matt Holliday they might be added to that mix. But just about every NL team has simliar questionmarks or issues as we currently have. Our offseason hasn't even really started yet. It's not like were about done and just added a bunch of crap players. Scott Podsednik didn't get signed to be the everyday CF and leadoff guy and Hendry didn't name Aaron Miles(the fact he's off the team is a postive) the everyday 2b and number 2 hitter. So can we chill with the doom and gloom stuff in December please? Or at least until the team actually makes some moves. ugh just give it a rest JUST GIVE JIM A CHANCE YOU GUYS. i know he keeps making terrible moves, BUT HE MADE AN AWESOME TEAM IN 2008. just give him this 18th chance and you won't regret it this time
  2. would probably hurt them in the long run, but this would make out 2010 hopes even smaller
  3. our team is going to be incredibly mediocre next season
  4. he's only done it for 2 years. and the reason he's been moved twice is BECAUSE he's pitched lights out ball this seems like more of a risk management type move for the phils. they could have just extended lee and hoped he pitched like he has the last 2 seasons, but that would be pretty risky (at least for the money that he'll demand) considering his track record. i wouldn't want to give 15-20 million for a guy like that. halladay is a much safer play (not to mention he's a better pitcher. the phils will have halladay/hamels for the next 4 years. that's pretty beastly (despite hamels' 2009)
  5. that [expletive] [expletive] [expletive] i lost 147.10-146.60 that last interception he threw on the pointless hail mary into the endzone as time expired expired (+2 points for tennessee's defense) did it. the last play of my opponent's day.
  6. granderson- fail cameron- fail byrd- ? ankiel- ? pods- ? let's see how low we can go
  7. im gonna be annoyed when the red sox trade ellsbury and buchholz for adrian gonzalez
  8. remember when nick swisher struck out kapler last season and gammons freaked out about it on bbtn? they showed some of the yankees laughing and peter said something ridiculous like "they can laugh all they want but none of them will achieve in life what gabe kapler has".
  9. You mean we haven't seen what Halladay can do outside the best offensive division in baseball yet? Hope he can adjust to the NL East (and remember he's pitching for the Phillies). yeah that post didn't really make sense to me either
  10. halladay is better than lee AND they got to extend him
  11. Yeah, way too much money for Lackey. But ESPN will somehow overlook the amount and say "Theo did it again." Way too much? He's a better pitcher than Zambrano and it's less money. At the very least, it's overpaying a top of the rotation starter, instead of some schmuck. Is anybody signing better free agent pitchers for less? Huh, how is lackey better than Zambrano. Zambrano has better numbers and is three years younger. Zambrano is a nut case but his numbers are better than Lackey's. please tell me how Lackey is better than Z. umm, the last time zambrano had better numbers than lackey was 2005
  12. i don't know.... his track record doesn't really show that so far. his first 3 years were very good, and last season he was hurt. in 271 career innings so far he has really nice numbers (1.18 whip, a k:bb of over 4). that's a pretty big sample size. even if those things you say about him are true, he's shown he can be well above average consistently.... assuming he's healthy.
  13. i hate you
  14. no. dude i was playing started tennesee's defense
  15. who the [expletive] is keith null? that scumbag probably just cost me a lot of money
  16. it seems like a lot of people don't understand how good capps was from 06-08
  17. i hope you die you [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]
  18. what did lovie do?
  19. he just tied the record
  20. 19 now for marshall
  21. brandon marshall has 17 receptions and there's still 12 minutes left. the record is 20
  22. If you'd have given me 20 guesses, I don't think I'd have come up with this one. I would have guessed Roy Halladay. yeah, my first guess as well. Second guess probably would have been Pettitte. What's weird about Vasquez is that he's had a few really solid seasons and a lot of mediocrity in between. he just has a lot of years with a decieving era. i'm not sure if it's bad luck or whatever, but he has a lot of season where his era doesn't really match up with his stats. i know he gives up a lot of home runs, but still. when you have a career WHIP of 1.24 and k/bb of almost 3.5/1 in about 2500 innings, you've had more than a few solid seasons.
  23. right now he is hands down the best goalie in the league, at least in terms of this season
  24. i don't know. when you get that many chances against a crap goalie, you need to bury more than one. to lose because of that is pretty bad. plus, how much of them being very good is because of miller? he has like a .940 save percentage this season. with lalime in net i don't know how good they are
