    Niemi started today no he didn't huet gave up the first 4 and was pulled right at the beginning of the 2nd. niemi played the final 37 minutes and was outstanding. he kept us in the game in the 3rd.

    that's not even close to being accurate. before tonight he had given up 9 goals in his last 6 games. tonight he only gave up 1 in 37 minutes.

    why? I was mainly referring to their position in the Granderson deal, in which they got reamed as the third team in a three-teamer. Howry move may not be bad on the surface, but it just seems extremely pointless to sign a guy like him when your team completely sucks. Completely sucks? Awful strong words for a team with a whole roster full of guys just entering their prime years. If Brandon Webb is healthy, I could see them winning more games than the Cubs in 2010. yeah, if webb is healthy that rotation looks really good. i like kennedy better than scherzer.

    i think the nfl is pretty much wide open No question, but all six teams in the NFC will have a shot at making it to the Super Bowl. I think three teams (at most) in the AFC have a shot at going that far. i don't know. the colts choke in the playoffs almost every year, and norv turner and the chargers aren't much different. depending on which teams win the wc, i think the afc is wide open too. the jets have the inside track and have absolutely zero chance. the bengals have next to zero chance (seriously has any "good" team been less inspiring the last 6 weeks? maybe minnesota i guess?) baltimore is next up in the afc; i suppose they could do something, although their defense isn't nearly what it used to be or what people think it is (because many of the names are the same). i could see to see indianapolis, san diego, new england, pittsburgh or baltimore coming out of the afc

    keep in mind the red wings aren't the same team that they're likely to be at the end of the season. they have been destroyed by injuries. if they end up getting healthy at the end of the season and we have to play them in the first round, that would suck. we still should win, but they'd be a much tougher draw than one of the other teams. that's all assuming they get healthy though, and i haven't paid enough attention to them to know how serious the injuries are.

    Was Favre's fumble a problem? Yeah what about when he tried to throw 2 INTs in the 4th quarter? is that a problem? He tried to throw 2 INT's? His intent was to throw INT's? One was a terrible decision. One was just a really good play by Hillenmeyer. why are you questioning my phrasing? you know exactly what i meant.
