  1. oh look, byfuglian missed the net by 5 feet again
  2. what sucks is that they'll have to sit on these 2 losses until thursday
  3. wasn't our night last night, either. this is just [expletive] weird weird weird weird. no, not really. it's called a hockey season
  4. seriously just get byfuglian off this team. how many passes has he missed because he half-assed them tonight?
  5. why do these games always happen against us?
  6. for some reason i feel like the hawks still win this, even though hiller seems to be having one of those games that happens against us so often.
  7. i also wont miss how he constantly shoots from the point and misses the net by 5 feet ugh, why the hell did toews pass that?
  8. i gotta say, when buff's gone i don't think i'll be too sad.
  9. that's what people said after every bad loss the cubs had during the 2008 season. only a fluke team could have a badass record and then free fall. this team is not a fluke. they are the best team in the nhl. the only way they could have a free fall is if they were crushed by injuries. I know, even a "free fall" I wouldn't expect to be devastating, just bad enough that it would be tough to stay in the President's Trophy race upon recovery. The last 3 games by the Hawks, we gave up a 2-0 lead to start the game against Boston, blew a 4 goal game midway through the 3rd period and lost, and now let Anaheim build up a 2-0 lead tonight. Not an impressive stretch of hockey considering what we're used to. first of all, every single team goes through a stretch like this. the 2008 cubs went through like 3 different horrible stretches. and i dont see why you're complaining about giving up a 2-0 lead to boston when we scored 5 straight and won. might as well point out every time this season that an opposing team has scored 2 straight. also, theyre outplaying the ducks tonight.

  11. kurt warner is such a douche. i really don't know why god loves him so much.
  12. worst wild card weekend ever
  13. i didn't even know he was a free agent. and if vlad's decline continues the way it has over the last 3 years (or if he just puts up the same offensive numbers as last year), then byrd is better.
  14. is that the dude who won that stupid espn reality show like 5 years ago?
  15. those are both amusing, but not as amusing as the faces of everybody on the eagles' sideline as they realize all they needed to do is win one of the past 2 games to advance to the divisional round and they are getting outscored by a combined 58-14 yes all they had to do was to win 1 game, on the road, against a team that is more talented, better than any team they've beaten all year, and a horrible matchup for them. small potatoes. yeah you cant really blme them for getting outscored 58-14 in these past 2 games. that's about all you can realistically ask for... to stay within 7 touchdowns. kudos on a valiant effort
  16. either the cowboys or vikings will be in the nfc championship game disgusting
  17. so let me guess, philly fans are back to hating mcnabb again

  19. yeah, that's what i'm saying. the hawks are good enough that they dont need great goaltending usually, but in the postseason when you have to win 4 series, all it takes to screw everything up in one game like tonight from huet. he can be fine for 4 games, but what if you go into a game 5 in a tied series and he has a game like this? i know all goalies have bad games. but huet often has games where he simply doesn't give his team a chance to win. that game against dallas a couple weeks ago is a good example. in a best of 7, all it takes is one of "those" games, and you're in all kinds of trouble
  20. i never said i didnt think theyd win the cup because of huet. i said i dont think theyll win the cup if huet is starting.
  21. Come on dex, will you please chill out on the "sky is falling" attitude. Crappy loss, no doubt, one that won't be repeated this year. The Hawks can win a Cup with Huet in the net. i've been saying all year that i don't feel like huet is capable of leading a team to a stanley cup. this game just makes me think about it even more. i defended huet all last season, but this season ive finally come around. I think they can make a run with Huet. Yeah he sucks most of the time but the Hawks usually play keep away and put the puck in the net pretty well. While it's tough to do this against the best teams, they've been doing this all year. I don't see why they couldn't do it in the playoffs. I would love to see what Niemi could do as the regular starter though. huet's not the type of goalie that typically does well in postseason hockey. he gives up wayyyy too many rebounds and doesnt respond well at all to traffic in front of the net. like people were talking about in this thread early tonight, how many times have we heard pat foley say huet never saw it" this season?
  22. Will Niemi play his way into the goal for the playoffs? With that contract would Q sit him on the bench? I think Q isn't going to stand for too many games like this. If Huet keeps playing like this I don't think you have to worry about Huet in the playoffs. i have no idea. nieme has been great this season, but i'm in the same boat as kujay. i don't think we've seen nearly enough of him to make a judgement. i do think i'd start giving niemi a few more starts and see if he plays well enough to warrant taking more starts away from huet. if you do that and he starts to struggle, limit him a bit more.
  23. you mean it reminds you that they're a sports team
