i can see your logic, but i feel like chicago is an attractive enough destination that we shouldnt have a problem landing 2 big guys this offseason if we have the resources and are serious about it. i just really don't like amare at all, and i think it's worth the risk to just wait and go hard after one or 2 guys this offseason.

i recently read quotes from amare saying how theres a good chance he wont even opt out this offseason and instead wait until the next year when there arent as many free agents. amare would be like 5th on my list of upcoming FAs. behind lebron/wade/bosh/boozer forget about amare and focus on getting expirings

yeah, padding wouldn't have done anything. they said he was going 88 when he flew off the course. when you go from 88 mph to a dead stop that quickly, it doesn't matter how soft the surface is. i just cant believe how terrible the design is. seriously, big metal poles? that should not have happened.

i believe that he had objections to being called the n-word repeatedly by the ususal suspects in the right field bleachers. many interpret this as him bearing the cubs ill-will, or him simply playing the "race-card" (as we all know, racism doesn't exist anymore after it was decided that black people should just stop paying attention to it) because of sour grapes. that's pretty much what i thought. derrek lee has said more annoying things about cubs fans

I was thinking that as well, despite having limited chances, there's no doubt in my mind the Stars score on some those chances Niemi denied. he wasn't biting at all on anything. the only one that he seemed a little caught off guard by was the post shot, and it was post because he did a good job cutting off the angle.

not really much to complain about. this was one of their better games since the minnesota collapse. the score was close, but the hawks dominated them. the stars took advantage of a couple mixups and pathetic officiating (i'm still pissed about that stolen 5-3). niemi was really good tonight, despite giving up the 3 goals. the only one that was his fault was the rebound on the second goal. he had no chance at all on the 1st and 3rd goals, and was completely money in the OT and SO. also gotta give credit to sopel for playing all 2 minutes of that OT PK. he was huge
