  1. was it a surprise that the chargers didn't tender sproles?
  2. before tonight he had a .394 FG% with the bucks
  3. but when he uses the term "anti-bradley" to describe how he might be viewed if he were white, that implies that people are making him out to be bradley because he's black... as opposed to people just drawing comparisons. i don't know if he actually meant it that way, but that's kind of how it reads.
  4. that's what i'm trying to figure out. the article (and lee's quotes) make it sound like some people are afraid byrd might be like bradley because of race, which is absurd. ui haven't seen a single person think that way. I think the usage of the word "compare" has confused you. People are actually contrasting the two. What Lee is implying is that if Byrd were white, there wouldn't be any discussion of his personality vs. Bradley's. i'm fully aware of what lee was implying.
  5. that's what i'm trying to figure out. the article (and lee's quotes) make it sound like some people are afraid byrd might be like bradley because of race, which is absurd. ui haven't seen a single person think that way.
  6. Isn't that the point of the article? that was the point of the second article, yes. the second article is the opposite of the original article. that's a quote from lee, obviously implying that people are making some kinds of comparisons of byrd/bradley based on the fact that they're both black. so i'll ask again. where are these people who are saying byrd might be like bradley because they're both black?
  7. i asked who is comparing the two in the light that lee is talking about. that's an article basically saying how different they are. it evens calls him "the anti-bradley"
  8. that article is like the opposite of what lee was talking about
  9. For everyone's sake, really. Hopefully valuable lessons were learned from the whole Corey Patterson debacle that ensure the same mistakes will never be made again. I dont think Patterson was rushed. I think a certain manager tried to make him something he was not. If they would have just left him alone and let him bat 6 or 7th he probably would have been fine. Of course I think his expectations were higher then his reality also. That being said I think Castro should be in AA this season. I am one who usually is all for bringing players up. In this case I dont see the rush as long as we have Theriot playing average SS. Part of what you say is true, however Corey was also brought up and then spent long stretches on the bench, hindering his development. when? for 59 games in 2001? that's the only time he was in the majors and not a full time player. starting in 2002 (age 22) he got the chance tio play every day until his time with the cubs was up. rushed? maybe. but it wasn't a pie situation where he didn't get a chance to play every day.
  10. Saw this headline on the front page of espn.com http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/mlb/news/story?id=4952014 I don't get it. Who is comparing Byrd to Bradley, and it what way? People are comparing them because theyre both black? Or because they both came from the Rangers? I haven't heard any kind of comparisons from anybody, other than a few people talking about the fact that they both benefited from hitting in Texas.
  11. didn't see his comments, but if he was DQ'd (and he should have been), then it's ridiculous that the canadian dude who won wasn't DQ'd also. his was way worse
  12. that is some hard hitting analysis
  13. canada got out chanced 12-3 in the 3rd period? wow
  14. i'm really starting to question canada's mental toughness.
  15. seriously canada, bring that weak [expletive] on sunday afternoon and see what happens i feel like this canada team has choke written all over them
  16. thoroughly unimpressed with canada's performance tonight if they play like this again, USA will win.
  17. btw, that 500m DQ business was a bunch of garbage. why was a canadian judging that anyways? seems like a pretty obivous conflict of interest. if Ohno got DQ'd on that there is NO reason that the bearded guy who own shouldn't have been DQ'd as well. ridiculous
  18. canada is weird. they looked ridiculously good against russia, but tonight they look kind of "meh" (at least compared to how they've looked in other games in the tournament). i don't really know what to make of them. i mean obviously they're awesome, but how awesome? if they play like they have tonight, USA can definitely beat them again. i thought they'd be running circles around slovakia. i'm really interested in how they come out on sunday. they're going to have a ridiculous amount of pressure on them. not only is there the pressure of winning the gold, but there is going to be extra pressure on them to not lose to the US for the second time in the tournament. can you imagine the heat they'd take if they lost to us TWICE? it would be brutal (and amazing)
  19. 1- roy has a cooler name 2- roy is cuter 3- roy has seen space jam 14 times
  20. with the things the bulls were doing down the stretch, i wouldn't put it past them to foul on a 3 point attempt at the buzzer i've never seen a team do so many things wrong in an overtime period and still win. oh well, good win. i really wish they'd shut down noah though. he was all kinds of gimpy
  21. Yea it was a foul, but 99.99% of the time its not getting called at the end of the game. I disagree with King that Kobe, Roy, etc... get that call i think they all get that call
  22. was the right call
  23. it's [expletive] garbage
  24. game would be over if the bulls could convert a 3 on 1 (or if the ref isn't oblivious to a play right in front of him)
