  1. it will all depend on how they each perform this season.
  2. i'm sure bradley was a dick to the media, and he had pretty good reason to be. i'm not saying bradley isn't to blame or anything like that, but of course he was a dick to the media. i would have been too. they'd rip him non stop and then wonder why he wasn't nice to them after the games.
  3. i also like the pressure that toews/seabrook/keith were under during these olympics. they HAD to win the gold. i'd think that any pressure they might face in the nhl playoffs won't even compare to the pressure they faced here.
  4. yeah but so do the canucks (both sedins, kesler, luongo, etc) and the sharks (heatley/marleau/thornton/boyle/nabakov/pavelski), and those are really the only 2 teams i'm worried about from the west.
  5. you said that the media was getting revenge. revenge for what? it was the media that went after bradley hard, not the other way around. the media didn't get enough when they trashed bradley for 6+ months? they need to get more shots in on him now after he's gone? actually, bradley is the one who has taken the high road since he got traded. i haven't heard a single thing come out of his mouth about anything related to the cubs or the media since he was traded. meanwhile, chicago media and stupid cubs fans are still taking shots at him constantly for no reason. i'm not a bradley fan at all, but it's just sad at this point. the dude is gone.
  6. i find it really hard to believe that a 59 game stretch could have significantly effected a player's development. it's 2 months.
  7. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/3454 a very small jab and not a big deal at all, but still. i thought it was unnecessary and kind of below bruce. that's more like something i'd expect from steve stone. Ahh. Well, I can see how that can be read a few different ways, actually. But, I get your point. I read it as Bruce wishing that Milton let stuff bounce off of him better than it does, and maybe we'd be watching Bradley take batting practice with Jaramillo in good spirits this year instead of Byrd. I think people are being overly sensitive in regard to the Bradley criticism. Bradley treated the media badly by all accounts and now they are getting their revenge. In regard to Bruce's comments, those were from his blog, which is much more informal than his newspaper stories. His blogs tend to be more of his personal thoughts and comments. wait, you're saying that the media is the bigger victim when it comes to milton bradley? that's a pretty interesting spin on that situation. the media has done way more to bradley than he has ever done to them... and it's not really close at all. what has bradley done to the media? been not friendly to them after they were out to get him the second he signed with the cubs?

  9. going to play a little homer here but Rafalski was very good in the tournament, not sure who out of those three I would take out though. i'd take out nash and put in rafalski, but behind toews. keith and doughty were both close too. honestly, a great game. one of the best i've ever seen. the game tying goal was the hardest i've cheered for a goal in 8 or 9 years. rafalski was great, but i noticed nash more. i was terrified every time he had the puck. i thought rafalski had more of an impact earlier in the tournament. i thought getzlaf was great too. i am really proud of toews though. when people talked aobut how stacked canada was, they'd always talk about crosby, heatley, thornton, iginla etc..... but it was 21 year old jonathan toews that outperformed (and outworked) all of them. he was arguably the best skater in the entire olympics, and at age 21 that's pretty special.
  10. take what away from them? "we dominated those little kids, man. nobody can take this away from us. we clearly were a better team than those little blind kids. we are truly champions today."
  11. did you say the same things when the cardinals won in 2006?
  12. my top 3 players of the tournament ryan miller rick nash toes
  13. i think the way canada looked in their win over russia was how they should have played all tournament.. or at least close to that. it felt like they were playing at like 70% of their potential the whole olympics.
  14. wow i like the reaction of the guy in the [expletive] green shirt behind the net. he was midway into his celebration leap and then almost collapsed in horror
  15. is it possible to have an unimpressive gold medal win? with the ridiculous amount of skill canada had, it would kind of seem to me like a letdown that they almost let USA beat them TWICE. kind of reminds me of when alabam barely beat texas even though mccoy was out and my little brother was playing qb. felt like more of an escape than an accomplishment. i think USA gockey definitely had a more impressive olympics than canada.
  16. Why would you be disappointed by facts? It's no secret that Bradley and the media did not get along, now it appears they are happy that the guy that replaced Bradley on the roster has a better attitude or deals better with the press. The comparison's are going to come in all year. your posts in this thread don't make much sense. i'm disappointed that he took a shot at a guy that has been off the team for months and has already recieved way more criticism than he deserves. i expect that garbage from the common media, but i thought bruce was better than that.
  17. i heard it too. i'd take is as a compliment. he gave them plenty reason to boo him after raping them in game 6 last year.
  18. The Americans weren't favored to medal. The U.S. Hockey brains completely turned over the roster from the Tkachuk/Modano/Chelios crew to the Parise/Kane/Miller crew, and they played pretty damn well. This bodes well for 2014. yup. going into the olympics, picking the US for the bronze was considered a bold pick. not only did they win a silver, but you could argue that they had the best tournament of any team.
  19. from what i have seen (most games), nash and toews were the 2 best forwards in the olympics.
  20. pretty much worst possible scenario. crosby is now the hero despite being garbage the entire tournament. and it's a shame for it to end on such a soft goal allowed by miller after he had been so good in the tournament
  21. has your opinion on miracles changed? NO!
  22. lolol roenick is so stoked
  23. btw, whoever it was that said that crosby has been invisible is right. he is a complete non-factor right now (knock on wood)
  24. i was kind of disappointed to see bruce take a shot at bradley while talking about byrd's good attitude
  25. if slovakia hangs on, all 6 blackhawks will win a medal pretty awesome
