  1. i just wish the crowd wasn't so dead and every time i hear a gus scream i always think of adam morrison crying
  2. [expletive] cbs ther'es an overtime game going on and theyre staying with a game with a double digit point difference
  3. He would have to change significantly for that to no longer be his ceiling. So I take it you haven't kept up much with this offseason? Putting on muscle doesn't change the fact that he's done crap in the minors and hasn't come close to showing any patience. I don't really care about media reports about what everybody does in the offseason to finally turn things around. 9 times out of 10 those efforst are meaningless. Prove it on the diamond. While Colvin was never steller in the minors, he was off to a promising start before lsoing 2008 to TJS. ??? colvin played 2008 and sucked. he has tjs after the season (during the arizona fall league)
  4. i checked cubs.com (i know, i know) and theyre allllll over colvin... wanting him to be the starter, etc. i know cubs.com is terrible, but they probably represent the most common cubs/baseball fan. even if you read one of the articles on cubs.com about colvin, the comments are saying the same thing. it's just funny because these are the same people who will want him gone after he has a bad 10 at-bats in the regular season. i think most baseball fans in general are pretty dumb when it comes to this type of stuff.
  5. you know exactly what i mean
  6. so i see that colvin is this year's spring training sensation who everybody goes crazy over for having 3 good weeks in meaningless games. micah hoffpauir, david patton, etc
  7. wtf is he doing
  8. wait, i'm confused. how many did huet let in? i thought they pulled him after the 5th but espn says he gave up 7?
  9. holy [expletive].... 8-1?!?!? we're losing 8-1 to the blue jackets??!?!?
  10. should be disgusted with himself for starting huet in the first place when it finally looked like niemi was starting to play well as the number 1
  11. i hope syracuse comes back so we hear a little gus magic
  12. today? Yeah, we probably aren't anymore by like 2 or 3 maybe
  13. You took a lot of high injury prone pitchers on your staff that would worry me if I had your team. your pitching looks highly suspect, and i think you're going to be struggling in hr, rbi, and maybe ops
  14. and of course it's going to play out so right when we lose the 1 seed, detroit will move into the 7 seed i'm convinced we're destined to get detroit in the 1st round and lose.
  15. i haven't been watching. how many have been soft? [expletive] you q
  16. really starting to question q. starting huet was [expletive] stupid. he says that huet is the number 1 but he wanted to give huet a start. fine, i understand that..... but why tonight? niemi is coming off one of his best games of the season and has 2 shutouts his last 3 games. why not ride that and see if he can get a streak going? but no, instead he benches him (so he has 5 straight days off to cool off) so he can give huet a start that could have waited until niemi had a bad game. [expletive] brilliant
  17. Marlon Byrd is probably the last person I'd suspect to do coke. HE IS SO HUGE. Big people don't do coke? Not as much, or else they would eventually get smaller. wtf
  18. Yeah, that's the philosphy to go through life with! And it's gotten you so far. it has gotten him far. extremely far. he not only made it to the majors, but he is getting paid tens of millions of dollars to play a sport. Did you not read the rest of my post? His attitude and personality has gotten him nowhere. His luck of being uniquely skilled in skill set that is rewarded hansomly. I suppose hard work is a positive trait that helped him get to where he is today as anyone who has had to play baseball has had to work hard to get there. But all the hard work in the world wouldn't have mattered if he didn't have god given ability to play the game. Show me one instance where his attitude and personality helped him get even $1, because that's what were talking about. Bradley said he's not changing anything about his personality, specifically his behavior towards umpires in this instance because it's gotten him this far. i just think it's funny that you imply he hasn't made it far when he is one of the slect few to make it to the majors, and one of the even more select few to get a huge contract that he could live comfortably off of for the rest of his life. milton bradley has a life most people dream of. he's a multi million for playing baseball.
  19. And my point is (still) that teams are idiots if that is why they didn't sign him. I have a hard time believing that all 30 teams are run by drooling morons So you think all 30 teams passed on a player who put up a .480 OBP because they were scared he might go to jail during the season (which he still hasn't done)? Do you think Bonds's surly demeanor outweighed the fact that he would've been the best hitter on most of the teams in baseball? It sure looks like that's the case doesn't it? I think what Tim said is mostly correct. Bonds is an extreme case and he had a lot of issues surrounding him to scare off other teams. However, Bradley has already alienated himself from a big chunk of the league and is known as baseball's biggest a-hole. Bonds kept getting deals because he was putting up awesome numbers and the fans hadn't turned on him. Albert Belle kept getting deals for the same reason until his hip gave out. Bradley is not on the level of Belle and Bonds, even when healthy. How many times is he going to piss someone off until a team trys to dump him and there are no takers? This time around, a team was so desperate to rid themselves of Bradley they took on a garbage pitcher whose contract would be the worst on the team for any team in baseball but the Cubs. What's going to happen when the Mariners tire of him? all the things you say about bradley were true before last offseason (and everybody knew it), and the cubs gave him 30 million. bradley and bonds are two completely different situations. if bradley hits, he'll be able to find a job.
  20. Yeah, that's the philosphy to go through life with! And it's gotten you so far. it has gotten him far. extremely far. he not only made it to the majors, but he is getting paid tens of millions of dollars to play a sport. And just imagine all of the tens of millions of dollars it has cost him. i doubt his attitude has cost him tens of millions of dollars
  21. And what makes matters potentially worse, is that the Mariners coach Don Wakamatsu is already enabling Bradley: Umm.............Don, it's not a witch hunt when a player has a history with umpires. that's the exact reason it IS a witch hunt.
  22. Yeah, that's the philosphy to go through life with! And it's gotten you so far. it has gotten him far. extremely far. he not only made it to the majors, but he is getting paid tens of millions of dollars to play a sport.
  23. the sharks lost again too..... their 6th straight and 5th straight in regulation if the hawks get the 1 seed, hopefully detroit stays hot and passes colorado. theyre only 3 points behind them and the avalanche have an insane schedule the rest of the way (la x3, sj x2, phoenix, calgary, vancouver, chicago, anaheim, edmonton) colorado seems like a pretty good mathcup... at least compared to detroit
  24. Not necessarily. Getting rid of Wood meant Kevin Gregg closing, and that didn't work out at all. wouldn't have made the playoffs anyways
