  1. 10 team H2H. BB, H, OPS and CG, SHO are the stats additional to the standard 5x5 C- McCann 1B- Prince 2B- Weeks 3B- Longoria SS- Theriot OF- BJ Upton OF- Granderson OF- Carlos Gonzalez Util- Berkman BN- JD Drew BN- Soriano (got him at the end, might as well) SP- Hamels SP- Nolasco RP- Soria RP- Qualls P- Frank Francisco P- Peavy P- Hughes P- Shields P- Ian Kennedy I feel pretty good about this team. I'll probably lose in hits most weeks since my offense is mostly high walk guys, but I feel like I have every other category pretty well covered. I'd feel better about my rotation if I hadn't missed on Beckett, but I like all those guys that I have quite a bit and I got them all later on so I was able to build a good offense first.
  2. my realistic hopes for this postseason: lose to somebody other than detroit
  3. the bullpen terrifies me
  4. how did you get kemp, howard, and hanley in the same 10 team league? those guys all average first round picks in yahoo leagues
  5. Do you have any evidence that how a team plays in the second half is more predictive of their playoff performance than how they play in the whole season? You continue to miss the point
  6. i just don't understand why you keep acting like this is just a streak and has no bearing on the playoffs, when really we've been this mediocre team as long as the dominant team.
  7. When the sample of crap overwhelms the overall sample. This team has been mediocre for a stretch that's almost as long as the stretch where they were great. You're choosing to believe we're still the first team even though we've been this new crappy team for almost just as long. If we don't turn it around in these last games of the regular season, we will have been a mediocre team for half a season.
  8. Yeah I just saw that link before I could edit my post. I still don't believe it. I distinctly remember when Bradley signed here reading more than one article talking about how the guys in Texas adored Bradley.
  9. Before last season, didn't pretty much everyone always say that Bradley was a good teammate and well liked in the clubhouse? Link to this? All I've heard was that Kinsler, Hamilton, Young, etc. would have led a mutiny if Bradley came back to Texas last year. Either you're making that up or you're misremembering. Those guys loved bradley.
  10. Hell yes I am. I'm just not hopeful that any of you will start to get it. You've seen it happen a ridiculous amount of times in your life: red-hot team goes cold in the playoffs and vice-versa. But the need to believe in streaks is too strong. You think playing like crap for 30 games can be considered a streak? At what point does it stop being a streak and begin being a flawed team?
  11. i don't think it's really a coincidence that the skaters started going downhill when our goaltending fell apart. i remember last year there was some talk of how this team played differently in front of khabibulin than they did in front of huet, and i think that's starting to show up again. it's hard to play that aggressive high-flying style of hockey when you know that you don't have a goalie back there who is capable of bailing you out when you make a mistake. huet and niemi have proven that they aren't able to to be relied on like that, and the skaters know that. they look like they're playing scared every night now... and i imagine it's hard not to feel like that when your goalies are so atrocious.
  12. both of those teams have more games played than the hawks, so it would be nearly impossible. theyd basically have to run the table and hope the hawks only win like 1 more game. it would be funny though
  13. Before last season, didn't pretty much everyone always say that Bradley was a good teammate and well liked in the clubhouse? Yes, but the media could have spun some of the details of the Jeff Kent-Bradley feud in 05 to make Bradley look pretty bad. Was that mostly Bradley's fault? Probably not, but the media could have made it out to be and many people would have bought it. I'm not going to commend the media for choosing to be 90% douchey towards Bradley instead of 100% douchey.

  15. I gotta work on making my sarcasm more obvious. My bad. No, I knew it was sarcasm. It just didn't really make sense to me. It sounded like you were trying to imply that SSR was just saying things that weren't necessarily true to make Bradley look better. No sorry I was just being random. In retrospect, I can see why it really didn't fit there. I guess my point was, although the media had something to do with how Bradley/Chicago turned out, there were other factors at play. Well of course. Bradley is as much to blame as anyone. I just think the "I don't think the media was unfair to anybody" quote from Lou (and backed by Miles) was completely false.
  16. Like when Paul Sullivan went on a spring training broadcast and called him a crazy person. Remember when Bruce Levine convinced fans to write racist letters to Bradley? No, because that didn't happen. SSR's post, however, was accurate. I gotta work on making my sarcasm more obvious. My bad. No, I knew it was sarcasm. It just didn't really make sense to me. 17. Like when Paul Sullivan went on a spring training broadcast and called him a crazy person. That's true (and kind was too strong of a word on my part). However, they still didn't go through his past. Can you imagine if someone had wrote an article just detailing every thing Bradley's been involved in during the last 7-8 years? Most of Chicago would have hated him from day one especially if they played up the possible domestic violence calls. And yet as far as I know an article like that never came out. Why are you making it sound like Bradley had this secret past that needed to be exposed by a writer for people to know about it? Everybody knew/knows about Bradley's past and what he's gotten into. Everyone knows about the bottle incident at Dodger Stadium. Everybody knows about the injury with Bud Black. Everybody knows about him going up to the press box. It probably wasn't written about because everybody was already very familiar with his past.
  18. is it a coincidence that the hawks and sharks (each team had 5 players in the olympics) have sucked ass since returning from the olympics break? those 10 guys haven't done [expletive] since returning either.

  20. booooooooooooooo
  21. mentally melting down now too. awesome. really starting to question q
  22. hawks last 30 games: -4 so for a stretch that's over 2/3 of the regular season, the hawks have a negative goal differential. it's no longer just "playing terrible right now". it's more like "this team hasn't been good in almost 3 months".
  23. A week ago they were tied for the best record in the conference. Yes they are playing terribly, but from the stats I have seen, it doesn't matter how well you play going into the playoffs. Being hot or cold near the playoffs is not indicative of playoff performance. come on. even kyle isn't using these arguments anymore. this team has been mediocre forl ike 2 months. they have been a different team since the wild game. arguing against that just makes it looks like you haven't been paying attention to the team.
  24. yeah, i almost don't care anymore. there's no way this team wins a cup this year so it's kind of pointless worrying about how far they go. it's amazing how much interest i've lost in this team over the past month or two. hopefully they get booed off the ice tonight.
  25. yeah i'm pretty usre detroit would beat us right now. luckily though, it looks like detroit will probably finish with the 4 or 5 seed It'd take a hot streak from Nashville and us to sink even lower but we could as well. i meant 5 or 6, sorry
