  1. unless you want them in the first round, we should be rooting for detroit to win
  2. By pitching well. I suspect they like Marshall in the Pen because of his prior success there and limited success for Marshall as a starter. I also suspect they like another lefty in the pen. Silva has had success as a starter not a reliever. You earn a spot by pitching better than the other options. Marshall easily outperformed him. And we have 3 lefites in the pen now. They gave a ridiculous amount of money to a lefty this offseason. Marshall being a lefty shouldn't have anything to do with it. Oh, and it's arguable if Silva even pitched well this spring. So did everyone else on this board. I don't know why you keep talking about this imaginary group of posters. I don't keep talking about it. You do. You continue to bring him up and ask me about him. You seem obsessed. haha. that is literally the first time i've mentioned hart to you. it seems like your imagination gets the best of you.

  4. I still want him to explain how Silva earned the starting spot over Marshall.
  5. it's crucial that we have marshall available to come in and eat up 2 1/3 innings after the starter only goes 3 and leaves with the cubs down 7-2.
  6. worst comparison ever
  7. What did he do to earn a spot in the rotation over Marshall?
  8. i dont know if i'd want to trade him if we had to eat any of the contract really
  9. All I know is I'm sick of Greg Amsinger and his blatant biad toward the Cards and against the Cubs. Plus the fact that he doesn't know wtf he's talking about and bases his opinions on RBI totals.
  10. just wanted to point out once again how miserable the devils are to watch. i feel sorry for people in new jersey.
  11. remember earlier in the season when "so Hawks" meant something completely different?
  12. that didnt go off the skate, eff you
  13. was coming to post the same thing. they are completely unnoticable on the ice. it's sad.
  14. names turn gray if you've clicked them before either that or they're dead
  15. i'm interested in hearing ravech and boone explain why they think there are 4 teams in the nl central that are better on paper than the cubs
  16. No, you consistently imply that this 30-game stretch is the only thing that means anything, and I keep telling you that you are wrong. when a team has been the same for 30+ games, i tend to believe that they're highly likely to stay that way when their problems are as real as the hawks are. i don't see why there's any reason to believe that there's a good chance it will turn around when the playoffs start and we're facing even tougher competetion. the thing is, this team has very real problems. it's not like they're just slumping and people can't figure out why. our defense is ass without campbell and our goaltending is comical. crappy defense and horrible goaltending makes it close to impossible to win a stanley cup... unless you score like the caps. and we don't.
  17. I'm not saying it's for sure going to turn around. I'm saying it might. no, you constantly imply that this 30 game stretch doesn't mean much, when it absolutely does.
  18. at least the hawks had the courtesy to lower our expectations before the postseason started and are letting us know what to expect. the 2008 cubs waited until the postseason to blindside us
  19. Agreed. So why not consider both the hot start and the cold finish. Why only the cold finish? it's no worse than you just completely shrugging off the past 31 games and basically saying "well once the playoff start teams often play differently" as a crutch. this team has been league average for almost half the season. why should we believe thats going to turn around once the playoffs start? and also, we had campbell for that good first half.
  20. kane is invisible toews is inivisible keith is a mess versteeg isn't even trying anymore obviously there is more blame to go around, but those are some of the things that stand out to me most right now
  21. don't worry because once the playoff start, it makes no difference if we've been playing like ass for 3 months... or something like that
  22. keith is pure garbage right now
  23. its gonna be funny when detroit finishes as the 6th seed and we slide into 3rd and have to lose to them
