ever since the ovechkin hit on campbell last season, i've gained a new respect for soupy. our defense seems to be completely different when he's not in there. he's vastly overpaid, but as a 4th d-man he's pretty badass. i hate his contract still, but i don't dislike him anymore.

considering that we've played 3 good teams (2 on the road), we're missing campbell, and the new team is still learning to play with each other, we aren't off to a bad start. could easily be 3-0. i think we'll keep getting better as the guys get used to each other and the young guys settle in a bit. losing hjalmarsson for a couple games will definitely hurt though. our d is going to be atrocious for those games. hos for mvp

ill miss his goonery but thats about it. ill always miss postseason buff, but he wasn't coming back even if we kept him don't know if i've mentioned this, but i think bowman did an amazing job this offseason, considering the circumstances. i was afraid he'd feel the pressure of casual/fair weather fans and keep guys like buff and niemi just for their playoff performances.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'd rather have a team like the 2010 Cubs than the 05 or 09 Cubs. At least this year's Cubs had the decency to let me know where the season was headed in April.
