They didn’t even play for 30 minutes. have you seen the weekend forecast and the remaining schedules? we already knew before today that this weekend was probably going to be spent sitting around and desperately trying to get in as many games as possible.

    the middle infield should clearly be murphy/baez the rest of the way, assuming murphy stays healthy and productive. if russell hasn't lost his starting job for the rest of the season, then it's because of joe being dumb. That's not losing his job; that's bringing in a rental to offset an injured player who can't hit worth a damn right now. that is a very odd distinction you're making. losing the starter role for the rest of the season counts as losing his job in the context of the post you replied to. it is very reasonable to assume that russell is not happy about primarily being a bench player for the rest of 2018.

    Indians aren't as good as they appear to be. Half their games this year have been against KC, CWS, Detroit & Minn. Imagine how good all our players' stats would be if that were the case for us. i'm not talking about what they've done in the regular season, i just think they look really good for the playoffs because of the top-end pitchers they can ride. although i had no idea that miller was broken again.

    there is a non-trivial chance that the cardinals win the division. it doesn't matter what i'm "worried" about. I'll take my chances with "non-trivial" chance. They're 4 games back, and finish the season with the Dodgers, Giants, Braves, Brewers and Cubs. well no shart, the cubs are the heavy favorites. i just don't see the point in pretending like the cardinals suck and that it's stupid to be paying attention to them the cubs are actually sweet now, no need to resurrect the duke meme
