who cares, even if we make it we'll just end up losing in the playoffs and then spend the offseason wondering if we're broken anyways. the bad things that are happening right now are things that are worrying long-term, too. yes, full doom boner. all of our good players are turning to horsefeathers. Even if that were all true, I care because it’s one less playoff spot for the Brewers or Cardinals to claim it is all true. the current standings and the cubs likelihood of making the playoffs is just a current distraction. if we don't win the world series, it won't mean anything and we'll just be faced with the uncertainty surrounding darvish, bryant, rizzo, russell, contreras, hendricks, and quintana. yes i'm mad online

i'm starting to think more big picture at this point and wondering how we're going to overcome the darvish/quintana moves while several key position players are taking steps back. the emergence of baez makes up for a lot of it, but damn. Any gaps in the position players will be filled with Bryce Harper. The pitchers? Who knows, they're pitchers. Some random turd who throws 86 MPH or some career nobody from Baltimore with a 5.something ERA might become stars overnight. Or they might not. I'm not saying it's gonna be fine. I guess I'm saying I never thought we were on some magic path to no adversity to begin with. We already banked our WS so who even cares. we should be 2013 blackhawks, but it feels like we're 2017 blackhawks

I don't expect you (or anyone really) to go back and check the old threads, but I just wanted to state this to refute the idea that he's a non-prospect and came out of nowhere. Scouts and prospect analysts noticed him and obviously Cubs' brass. He was added to the 40-man roster and would've been selected in the rule 5 draft most likely. I just hate the idea or notion this is some fluke and that he's "probably nothing". when i said he was a "non-prospect" i just meant he was older and never really made any lists. and "probably nothing" was relative to the hyperbole about how we have another great starter locked in or whatever. and the fact that was was talked about in the minor league forum doesn't really mean much, considering how little there is to talk about there right now. having said that, bote is fun and cool. i hope he does lots of good baseball things. -
Hopefully the Cards pull 2 of three from the brewers and we do the same from the Buccos i think i'd rather have the brewers win 2 of 3

it's kind of worrying that the only remedy we've heard suggested so far is for him to not play baseball. i'd almost feel better if they just said he's going to have surgery in the offseason.
