  1. at least blowing the division means we wont lose to an nl central team in the first round cause I'm mr briiiightsiiiide
  2. If they blow the division, they'd play at San Diego, right?
  3. if they lose out, I honeslty do not want them to win the division..theres no real.advantage other than bragging rights, and they dont deserve it if that happens. they deserve to be mocked all offseason for doing this for the 3rd straight year. I know im more negative than anyone, but the last 3 games have been unthinkable. if they cant take care of business this weekend, then horsefeathers them and good riddance.
  4. they're really going to blow it for a 3rd straight year, arent they
  5. Maybe it's already in the thread but the Cubs are 5-5 against the Cardinals. What's the tiebreaker? next tiebreaker is divisional record. I'm too lazy to figure it out exactly, but if the cardinals catch the cubs, theyll have won at least 4 of 5 against the brewers, which I believe would put their divisional record above the cubs.
  6. Wouldn’t the Cards have the tiebreaker on winning percentage? Cubs go 33-27 (.550) so the Cards would tie at 32-26 (.552). that would mean the cubs go 1-3 the rest of the way and the cardinals go 5-0. in that scenario, only 1 game (though sunday) goes their way, which is why 2 is basically the number percentage points wouldn't matter because they'd have the tiebreaker against us anyways
  7. the magic number is actually 2 when you consider that the tigers/cards DH only gets made up if it determines a playoff spot. if the cardinals tie the cubs by sunday, they will have secured a spot, and won't play the DH.
  8. if you think bad luck in any way close to the main reason they lost tonight, then i don't even know what to say. that's crazy bootlicking, even for you What was the main reason then? They had a ton of hard hit balls go for outs, in a 1 run game, that’s kind of a big deal. probably the same reason the offense has been bad the whole year: they suck. they missed countless terrible pitches right down the middle with no velocity or movement, and they chased garbage our of the zone. complaining about hard hit outs after a performance like that against trevor williams and the pirates is just so ridiculous to me.
  9. you're really determined to make excuses for the cubs if you think luck is even close to the main reason they lost tonight I mean tonight, yes, batted ball luck was bad and cost them the game. Overall no. They have big flaws. if you think bad luck in any way close to the main reason they lost tonight, then i don't even know what to say. that's crazy bootlicking, even for you
  10. theo is going to make so many threats to the offense this offseason. they'll be ready next year for sure
  11. obviously the point is that it shouldn't be a 1 run game, and they shouldn't need batted ball luck to score more than 1 run against one of the worst pitchers in the league That’s kinda the whole point. You can only hit so many 95-100+ MPH balls. You don’t control where they go. The Cubs have a good amount tonight. you're really determined to make excuses for the cubs if you think luck is even close to the main reason they lost tonight
  12. that last single kept kyle from finishing with a whip under 1.00
  13. it's true, but i don't want to hear anything about it. it shouldn't matter. In a 1 run game it kinda matters obviously the point is that it shouldn't be a 1 run game, and they shouldn't need batted ball luck to score more than 1 run against one of the worst pitchers in the league
  14. it's true, but i don't want to hear anything about it. it shouldn't matter.
  15. i'm watching on gameday. is it bad that all their outs come on blue dots right down the middle of the zone?
  16. bauer just won the cy young probably
  17. schwarber's gotta go this offseason, even if you get nothing back
