  1. That's too bad about Cordero's torn labia
  2. Sweet I got a D on that particular test
  3. In the immortal words of John Miller, or maybe it was Joe Morgan, "he's adjusting to the adjusters" It was Morgan, you should really give him his do
  4. I think the Cubs can sweep this series if they let the Giants pitchers pitch themselves out of the game. If the team is patient at the plate, they should win all 4 games. Lincecum and Cain don't really have a tendency to do this. I think we'll have to be damn aggressive against those two.
  5. We ran into a couple really good pitchers this series and Derrek Lee is walking again. I'm fine, thanks for asking.
  6. I caught this, as well. Awesome.
  7. Very well stated. We're still well over 500. We did just lose three games in a row for only the second time this year, but we've won three or more in a row 8 times this year. We're in a tough stretch. If we're still struggling after the All-Star break or if we relinquish our lead in the division, I might get really concerned. Right now, I'm pissed after every loss and probably overreact during games, but when I look at the big picture, we're still ok. Who are the two lovely ladies to the right of Danica?
  8. Does anyone know why Theriot has been sitting the last couple days? Has Lou come to the realization that Cedeno is appreciably better at "catching the damn ball?"
  9. E-Patt could not possibly be worse at second because he could at least hide his noodle arm. I could've thrown out Quentin on that play.
  10. I don't think Bonds is in the union. He isn't, but Derwood's right, the union would still never let such a precedent be set.
  11. This is exactly how I feel. This was my logic as well.
  12. Aren't these guys professional athletes? Shouldn't they be used to heckling? What the hell is their problem? They're also human beings who get annoyed when people yell insulting things at them for hours on end. Really? You're gonna do this? Unfortunately, all my tears for the White Sox are all dried up from crying about 100 years of Cubs futility.
  13. Yeah, I agree with this just because he isn't a legitimate defensive option at second from what I've heard. His bat isn't such that you necessarily have to get him in the lineup yet, but he's a no-brainer with a few of our guys hurt.
  14. Close is relative I suppose. Since '06 Atkins has been a little low on slugging, but in '06 he bested Ramirez in pretty much every relevant offensive category. This year isn't looking much better for him, but he's shown the ability to put up those kind of numbers. In '07 he bettered him in RBI and Runs, about the only category he was low in was slugging. Low in slugging, playing half his games in Coors. Tomy's right, it's not close.
  15. This is amazing. Thank you for this. I've definitely missed my share of games on TV in favor of coital experiences, but I voted 3 mos. because that's about as long as I've gone since I started dating my long-term girlfriend (4 years). I definitely could not get her to agree to any longer, even though she is also a huge Cubs fan. If I were single, I would hold out as long as was necessary with very little difficulty.
  16. and then about Ozzie's rats comment.... That is kinda funny but I was hoping we wouldn't stoop to their level
  17. Now if only we could get Soto hitting in front of Edmonds... One of the things I heard Lou talking about (could have been during the in-game interview, but not sure) was that he likes having a lefty hitting 5th behind Ramirez. Fuku batting second means Edmonds will remain fifth. I realize that, but it doesn't make it logical or a smart thing to do
  18. Now if only we could get Soto hitting in front of Edmonds...
  19. Rich Hills doing a good enough job of doing that on his own. Right. But if and when he gets it back together, and there are already two lefties in the rotation, I'm afraid he won't be given a chance in the rotation due to old-timey manager baseball theory bs.
  20. I love the fact that his voice sounds like it's coming from a 5'4" 140 pound man
  21. I would like this trade a lot, but I'm afraid this acquisition would totally neutralize Rich Hill.
  22. He does sound pretty classy there. I always thought he was a jerk.
  23. Just turned the game on. Has he been calling that crap all day?
  24. Quite frankly, that would be so dumb it's hard to comtemplate
