  1. Oy gevalt. Sound familiar, anyone? I just poked my eyes out
  2. PM a mod. Preferably Jon. sweet...i don't know who this jon is, but i will be on the lookout gracias He's the laziest mod around, no wonder you don't know him. So you're saying if we want something done, we should PM another mod? :D
  3. I didn't think anyone needed to be worried about Harang and Dusty's PAPs. I'll never underestimate him again.
  4. How about "GoAWay?"
  5. In fairness, the national media has talked just as much about how he hasn't been throwing his slider lately and has become a two-pitch pitcher. So you doubt that the national media is waiting for the chance to do the same?
  6. Knee-jerk much? The two moves won't do anything of the sort. It would be MUCH worse if Marshall were relegated to his previous LOOGY role as he wouldn't be stretched out once Marquis starts to royally suck again. Chillll ETA: There was really no doubt in my mind that Marquis would keep his job over Marshall. Obviously, Marshall as the #5 is a much better option, but given the choice between the two probable outcomes, I'll take this one 8 days a week
  7. Jim, I'm sorry I doubted your ability to work Billy Beane over in a trade. I can't believe I just said that
  8. Wait, what? You realize those numbers aren't even close to each other, right? Wow yeah Marshall's WHIP is Marquis/Zito-bad
  9. First, how was I to know he had cancer? I didn't. Second, I wasn't trying be be insenstitive and tried to put it as nicely as I could. I wasn't trying to bring anyone down in any way. I knew someone would misinterpret it as happens to me often here. So I apologize. SSBW, I apologize but I didn't know. Check your sarcasm detectors, y'all
  10. Umm I really, really don't feel this way. ESPN dredging up the 100 years of futility or whatever is just something else they do that annoys me; it doesn't exactly crush my soul. I've only gone about 16 years (since age 6, when I first learned what baseball was) without a Cubs World Series. It really doesn't bother me that the last time they won a World Series was when I was negative 78 years old. And I really hope the players don't feel the way you do because it is way too big a burden to expect them to bear.
  11. I agree. Sometimes Hendry seems so over-matched it's really entertaining
  12. I can't tell if you're being serious or not. My gut says yes, and if so, this is hilarious
  13. Do you think his injury history, lessens his value to Beane? I would have, to think so
  14. Why? Despite the claim, there's no personal attack is abuck's message (unless it was subsequently edited and I missed something good). I figured abuck's suggestion that the other guy go to Desipio would get it done
  15. Well this thread is as good as locked
  16. I would think so, too. However, I have no idea about how the Cubs organization feels about him. Do they consider him a deal-breaker, or are they closer to feeling how the rest of us feel about him?
  17. why is that nice to see? That he's not buying into this deal making the Brewers the favorites. yeah, but who cares what he thinks? it's not like it helps the cubs or hurts the brewers. You're not wrong, but couldn't you have let this innocuous little comment go? no It must be very important to you. obviously. seriously though, a lot of posters' energy this summer seems to be focused on what jayson stark is saying, what brewers message boards are saying, what ozzie guillen is saying, etc. i just don't see the point. Well I'm just thankful we have someone here to police these foolish people. Hold up. I know that abuck can be gruff, but what did he say that was so out of line here? He expressed his opinion, pretty reasonably. He never attacked anyone...just the opinion. It took your post to make it personal. Maybe he should have let it go...but maybe you should have too. Is this directed at me or CT?

  19. This was a legitimate concern until the Brewers snagged C.C, IMO
  20. The Redskins need to be first on that list, then the Indians. I don't have much of a problem with the schools that use tribe names, so long as the tribe gives their consent, like the Ute, Seminole, and Choctaw tribes have done. Redskins changed their focus to pigs instead of native americans. The Indians are by far the biggest offenders.
