  1. Not sure if that was directed at me, but I can say that I understand some of the disgust over the doom & gloom that is pronounced here almost every day. Speaking for myself, I DO get "down" within gamethreads, but mostly it's me being sarcastic/tongue-in-cheek. Sometimes I do a poor job of relating that in my posts. I seriously haven't given up on the season. I DO give up on certain games, because this team has been so frustrating this year. But as far as the season goes, I think any rational poster here would agree that a fully healthy team could still make a serious run at the post-season. And if we can sneak in, anything is possible...
  2. I only wish more of our younger guys (Vitters, Castro, Lee, Jackson, etc.) we're closer to being MLB ready as it would be cool to see them in September. It'd give me more of a reason to watch. I haven't totally given up on the big club for this season, but that time is drawing near.
  3. Heilman up in the 'pen....Lou trying to accommodate the Phillies quest for 20 runs tonight
  4. An embarrassment on the field & in the stands
  5. Might as well pull Riot to give him a rest & let Miles finish the game at SS, pull Milton too
  6. If the Cubs were healthy, I'd still believe we had a shot, but that isn't the case.
  7. I was thinking the same, but I'll continue to watch with morbid fascination the suckiness of the Cubs offense
  8. Glad to see the Cubs could aid the resurgence of Rollins this year
  9. Damn glad I was wrong. Baker doesn't look worthless recently
  10. They're gonna waste another leadoff double, aren't they?
  11. If I'm a Phils fan, I'm VERY disappointed they scored only 2 there
  12. The Phils hitters are almost running up to the batters box...can't wait to get their hacks in
  13. It would take a whole series worth of baserunners for the Cubs to actually plate 10 runs given their RISP suckitude
  14. [shrug] I guess the bar just isn't as high as it used to be.
  15. Who says we're not happy? There's plenty to be excited about down in the minors. :D
  16. Then I guess the Cardinals are doomed since they'll have to face your nightmare scenario of Jake Peavy in the World Series. Nah... Peavy would be a nightmare only if facing the Cubs in the WS. Any other team has a shot
  17. Will the Cubs continue the RISP ineptitude? Probably...10 hits, 2 runs
  18. At least we have guys down on the farm to keep us interested
  19. [expletive]!!! Thought that was it for a second
