    I'm pretty much always in favor of labor over ownership IRL, but always in pro sports. If the Cubs lose a year of control, so be it. I'm cool with that short term pain if it can somehow contribute to structural change.

    Schildt had a similar "we don't start horsefeathers but we'll finish it" comment after Hamel's last start in StL where he barely clipped Yadi on a inside pitch. Maybe he's just deploying a "us against the world" appeal to his team. Or he's just easily excitable.

    As far as I'm concerned, we all lose no matter who wins the Cards/Braves series. horsefeathers the Braves fans and their tomahawk chop. horsefeathers like that actually makes the Cards advancing just a slight bit less unpalatable. I get it though, YMMV.

    I expect Ross to be the next guy, and whatever, that'd be just fine I suspect, but I continue to hope they get someone like Espada from the Astros. I admit I'm being reactionary about 2016 navel-gazing; nostalgia being something I'd rather leave to "I want it to be the 1950's again" baby boomers.
