  1. I do like this Cishek dude. I'll like him a little less when Harper or Bellinger hits one of those frisbees 600 feet in October, but for now, keep doing your thing.
  2. No you idiot he's bad. Didn't you watch all three of his starts? What else could there possibly be to judge his ability?
  3. Alright his line is pretty hilarious. Imagine sitting in the stands for this game so far.
  4. Good thing we didn't sign Bryant to an extension
  5. I’m guessing he didn’t want to run full speed in to a brick wall Yeah I might have missed/ignored the speed of the ball. Just saw it land at the base and was wondering if he could have gotten it without much threat of bodily harm.
  6. Is it asking too much for Heyward to catch that? I know balls that come off the wall at Wrigley don't usually get caught, but I figured if anyone could, it's the consensus best right fielder in his third year in the park.
  7. Anyone having any luck with the aforementioned Youtube thing? Signed up for the free trial but it's not showing up as an option for live viewing.
  8. Yeah seems that way. Traveling for work. Looks like they give you 7 days to cancel, so I'll just have to remember to do that after tonight.
  9. [tweet] [/tweet] That YoutubeTV part...does that mean it'd be free, or do I have to sign up for the youtube subscription thing?
  10. Probably mentioned elsewhere, but Rizzo back tonight. Wainwright has so far continued his decline, Ozuna/Molina/Dejong have combined to walk all of 5 times this year, and the offense is basically being carried by "career minor leaguers until age 28" Tommy Pham and Jose Martinez, which is basically business as usual for these guys. Oh yeah, they also found a dude who hasn't pitched above A ball until this year and is now the hardest thrower in baseball. Sure. Give Dex a good ovation when he leads off since he obviously doesn't get that when he plays at home, and then take care of business.
  11. Albert Almora Jr. has been scratched due to illness.
  12. Eh, if you combine this year and last he's got 27 home runs in 555 PAs (157 games). It's not the 37 he put up between A+ and AA in 2013, but 27 would have been 5th amongst all second basemen last year (and everyone above that had at least 645 PAs). And considering he was moved off shortstop by circumstances largely outside his control, if you look at shortstops 27 would have been second behind Lindor's 33, in 723 PAs (which means Baez has him beat in HR/PA). The contact skills haven't developed enough to make him a true star, but most of what his promised has come through.
  13. https://www.mlb.com/cubs/ballpark/information/security Luggage/Bag/Stroller Check Oversized luggage and strollers can be claim checked at the Bike Valet located in the alley just east of the main entrance for the CTA Red Line stop on Addison Street, easily accessible from Sheffield Avenue.
  14. Damn you I was saving that for some terrible post that was sure to come when the Cubs don't score in the bottom of the first or something.
  15. Did I anticipate having to resort to Breaking Bad on April 13th? No. Am I thrilled to get past your guys apparently encyclopedic knowledge of the Coen Brothers to get to the greatest show in history?
  16. The Cubs alternating wins and losses for the first twelve games of the year...
  17. To be fair, the Cubs used to (still do?) keep out the media for 10 minutes after every win to have a dance party. This was annoying, but whatever. Feast on the Braves, who are actually really bad.
  18. pretty sure this is the case for every team in baseball, not just mutually exclusive to the Cubs. Nope, it's just the Cubs. The rest of baseball is teams racing to score double digit runs first, because once they do it once it obviously continues like that the rest of the season. Puts us at a bit of a disadvantage, but we'll see how Theo adjusts.
  19. Apparently Hurdle called out Baez and Contreras last night (Baez for the bat toss after the pop out that he apologized for after the game, Contreras for showing up the ump after a strikeout). Doubt anything comes from it, but we'll see here if they want to go full meatball.
  20. I think it was more that the dugouts are further away from home plate now, so it’s tougher to heckle the ump from the bench.
