    Corbin Burnes was pretty incredible last year and has 20 Ks to zero walks and 2 hits so far this year (in 12 IP). So that + an already terrible Cubs line up without KB and Contreras....let's just hope no one gets hurt.

    I think this is the thing I'm most curious about. Jed has talked a big game about selling even if the team is mediocre at the deadline. But we're at 2.5 years of big talk with the only change being the Schwarber/Joc swap. Theo clearly wasn't willing to break up the band, but does Jed actually have the stones to sell if they're .500 and like three games out in late July? Uh yeah, the guy sold Darvish off a CY runner up season after he suddenly became the only good Cubs player (after being the worstest). That said, he’d be an idiot to sell in that scenario. Is that where you’re drawing the line? .500 and 3 whole games in July? Strange things can happen in incredibly small sample sizes! For example, see what happened on Monday after going 1-2-3 the first three innings!

    Tony Wolters is starting, which I assume means Contreras is sick or dead, because otherwise, why. The only way this would make sense is if our manager was a career light hitting back up catcher trying to look out for his own by sabotaging his team and depriving us of a pissed off Contreras going up against Brandon Woodruff's fake tough guy act. Using this gif solely as an excuse to link to his stand up, which I've watched three times this week.
