    This is dumb, we can all pick and choose sample sizes. For example: as of April 19th this year he had a 110 wRC (184 in the first 8 games). 9/1-9/12 last year it was 144. You're picking the most recent 2 weeks and the 2 weeks of last year that everyone paid attention to the most and ignoring an overall body of excellent production. If you want assign disproportionate blame based on the importance of those games in late September last year, go ahead, but it's a weaker argument because clutch isn't really a thing. I mean, he's on pace for 3 wins this year looking at the whole season. If that's our main concern, we should be just fine.

    I feel like Cody being hurt impacts all of those 'margin' things too. If he's out for long enough (and PCA plays above a certain threshold) that it doesn't make sense to send PCA back down upon his return, you almost wonder if the late inning substitution changes from Morel/Madrigal to Busch/PCA (with Belli going to first) in a fully healthy lineup.

    I like UMFan and think he's one of the better posters here, obviously been around forever. I just think it's dumb and overly negative to continue lumping in the bad September we had last year now that we're over 30 games into what has been, overall, a really successful season.

    Sure, but given that today was driven almost entirely by a new rule designed to make teams score in extra innings, it probably means we should be caveating this 'historic' stretch of losses-after-being-ahead.

    Unfortunately, given that the Mets have scored the same amount of runs this series as the cubs, that means their offense is also historic garbage and everyone should be cut or benched or both, and so you can’t even really enjoy this shota start because they’re so bad. (am I doing this right)

    Bored, he only has 39 PAs this year, how hard can this be. At the plate with runners in scoring position, less than two outs: 4/2, guy on third, 1 out: single 4/2, guys on first and second, 1 out: 2 RBI double 4/2, loaded, 1 out: FC, out at home 4/2, guy on second, 0 out: groundout to third (worth noting he obviously starter here and this a blowout) 4/3, 1st/3rd, 1 out: GB to third, thrown out at home 4/5: 1st/2nd, 1 out: RBI single 4/15: 1st/3rd, 1 out: GIDP 4/19: loaded, 1 out: FC 5-4, runner scores 4/25: 2nd, 0 outs: single to second(?), guy gets to third 4/29: 1st/3rd, 1 out: FC 5-4, runner scores 4/30: 1st/3rd, 1 out: walk 4/30: 2nd, 0 out: 6-3, runner advances to third Key takeaway for me: no strike outs.

    Welp, per gameday he threw one pitch in the fourth (a fly out) and then got pulled. Which is a little weird.
