  1. I don’t really know how Happ wasn’t in position to make that catch. Anything over 300 feet ends the game either way.
  2. Can someone pass this along to whatever is left of the pitching staff
  3. Well now a position player can pitch, so problem solved.
  4. Guessing it’s because counsell didn’t want anyone besides brewer finishing the game and was looking to avoid malpractice in terms of how many pitches he’s going to have to throw
  5. Figure out a way through this or else tell Colten brewer to get ready for a long afternoon
  6. Clean inning there is nice. Make this guy throw pitches.
  7. This team is so good and we will not continue on a 106 win pace but all these wins count and I’m very happy about that
  8. Well it's going to be tough to catch a fish if it's thrown over your head
  9. yes, good call If you buy into the theory that you don't want to give guys multiple looks at relievers that eliminates Little. Leiter, as noted, had worked back to back. Hopefully just a little too soon for Azlolay. Brown is starting Saturday. Thompson/Brewer are clearly not in the circle of trust. That leaves Neris or Almonte, who has admittedly been really good lately (8 straight scoreless appearances), but probably a little raw/walk heavy to toss out in front of Yordan/Kyle.
  10. Two absolutely elite, low K hitters. But yeah, let Alvarez put one on Sheffield if you have to.
  11. Both of these dudes are essentially split neutral and much better against lefties this year, so I withdraw part of my concern, and think there's probably some substance behind not throwing out the same reliever they saw last night (Little). Think I would have gone Leiter, but....more of a coin flip decision at that point.
  12. He seemed pretty set before all the injuries. Happ or Hoerner in the leadoff spot, Seiya/Belli/Morel/Dansby 2-5. It hasn't hurt us, so whatever. Neris here with Little warming up last inning and Leiter being so good so far this year is interesting.
  13. And yes, I say that knowing I've made comments about Morel in the clean up spot, but that was a long stretch and also like....look who is hitting 5-9 in this lineup today.
  14. I mean....someone has to hit there, for better or for worse. Counsell is playing the hot hand moving Tauchman up to second, but if you take a step back Busch has been our best hitter this year, and yanking people up and down the lineup based on a handful of games probably doesn't go over great in the clubhouse.
  15. Among hitters with 70+ PAs, Tauchman is currently: 4th in OBP 16th in wOBA 1st in BB%
  16. this snippet fom taylor makes me feel a little better about him not starting yesterday....might have been a logistical issue more than any deeper decision about his playing time
