    fWAR has Baylor at 3.6 WAR and 24th in AL among hitters With Juan Gone it's 3.5 fWAR and 31st in AL among hitters. Going through the MVP stuff, I had to figure that baseball writers must have just hated Ruth. He led all of MLB in WAR 10 times yet only received MVP votes in 3 seasons. Compare that to Gehrig who got MVP votes 11 times. Mays only winning 2 MVPs is awful also.

    I watched some of the first few games because it was baseball and baseball being back is good. But my interest in following the 2022 Cubs faded quickly. There's just so little to actually look forward to. I do appreciate them falling apart right away this year rather than stringing us along for 3 months like last year giving us hope they might be decent only to completely horsefeathers the bed in late June/July. Saves me a lot of time this way.

LeBron, Bird, Hakeem, Steph, Allen Jordan, Magic, Garnett, Steph, Bosh Durant, Giannis, Hakeem, Steph, Manu Steph is just absurd value at $2. I'd take him over all the $3 players except Hakeem without thinking twice. And then it would come down to how you put the rest of your team together. Also, Iverson at $4 is absurd. Literally nobody except for the biggest Philly homers is picking him at $4.

    13 runs in 6 games. 6 runs came in 1 game so the other 5 we scored 3 once and 1 in each of the other 4. Solid work.

    100% guarantee Javy scores on the Suzuki double. Of course Javy’s probably at third already anyway but still. And as long as we’re comparing to previous players, 100% chance Rizzo tries to score on that play and gets thrown out by 15 feet.

    In the 4th inning. LOL. I think we can officially say Maddon has lost his mind. Seaver’s career OPS against righties is only 87 points higher than against lefties so it’s not even like he’s got some absurd platoon split where he just annihilates righties, not that having one would justify this.

    And taken out of the game. He'd thrown 80 pitches. Baseball can be really horsefeathering stupid sometimes. Yeah, that’s lame. 80 pitches. He’s a vet. You’re up 6-0. Unless Kershaw himself said he wanted out of the game, there’s 0 reason to take him out.

    stupid chelsea I don’t like Real but I’m pretty sure the only times I’ve ever rooted for Chelsea are when it benefits Spurs or some other outcome in the league/UCL that I’d prefer to happen. No number of Americans on their team will ever get me to root for them.
