  1. Well, that does it. He's going to lose it next inning.
  2. what was the question? Which two players hit HR's on back to back pitches on July something, 2004 to give the Cubs an 11-10 win over the Reds? It was on this day.. Hmmm...don't know why I thought it was in July.

  4. No, just the stupid left field/right field thing. I hate the bleachers. Please explain. Right field bleachers looks at LF bleachers and chants "Left Field Sucks." Vice Versa How intelligent. Let's chant that our own fans suck.

  6. Somehow I don't think our fans should be chanting that the Padres suck considering they went 7-0 against the Cubs last year.
  7. 50-50 isn't a good percentage. Well, let's say it another way. Without using the hit and run at all in that inning, the Cubs get 1 run instead of 2. Without using the hit and run, the Theriot grounder could have been a DP and the Cubs wouldn't have scored any runs. Well, I calculated 1 because Lee still got a single, advanced on a WP, and then scored on Murton's single before Barrett would have made the 3rd out in the inning. And Sully, admittedly I can't tell you for sure-I'm listening as well :D I was just trusting Pat when he said it would have been a DP instead of saying that it just could have been one. Oops, you're right. I forgot about the WP that advance Lee to second. It would have been 1 run.

  9. I could see a professional game being canceled if the event took place at a school in a town that also had a professional team playing there that night. But other than that, the pro games shouldn't be canceled.
  10. I agree. The only sporting events that should be postponed are those that Virginia Tech is playing in. But that's it. A moment of silence would be perfectly fine with me.
  11. I think you're wrong about that. Gordon has improvements to make before he's a point guard, but he displays excellent passing abilities at the high school level. He improved in that area a ton last season. That said, he'll likely never be a true point guard, maybe a point guard in the Gilbert Arenas mode though. I look no further than his last name to make an Eric Gordon comparison. He reminds me a lot of Ben Gordon, but with better ball handling ability. Arenas is a pretty good comparison too. He is much more athletic than Ben G. EJ does winmill dunks. Against high school competition. When he does something like this in the NBA, I'll believe he's much more athletic than Ben Gordon. http://youtube.com/watch?v=7mzsazDWVcY By the way, is that Frank "pass the bong" Williams with the assist? Wow, that was amazing. His elbows as high as the rim.
  12. Not to mention, according to Tim Duncan---who btw has earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt---Joey Crawford was trying to goat Tim Duncan into a fight. And IMO, if that is true, then Crawford should be suspended for the rest of the yr (playoffs included) for trying to initate a fight. What Joey Crawford did, was beyond dispicable. I just saw this. They just had Mark Stein on Outside the Lines and said in all likelihood, Crawford will be refereeing in the playoffs and could be doing Spurs games. Now, I don't have a big problem with him doing games in the playoffs, but why on earth would the NBA even consider having him referee a Spurs game? I mean, come on, you're just asking for trouble then.
  13. Will Ohman and Cliff Floyd/Jacque Jones for Vernon Wells. Hell, they can have Novoa also. Not with that big ugly contract he has. I'm sure the Blue Jays would be more than happy to throw in a few mil per year to help cover the cost of Vernon's contract. I mean, after all, look at the deal they're getting.

  15. I could see this being a problem if this was a morning game. But since it's an afternoon/night game it won't end until around 7 PT. And couldn't you just delete the first thread anyway if somebody started it in your place?
  16. I don't mind Ramirez (.972) and Lee (.937) because of their OPS's but Soriano is worrying me a little at the moment. I think all he needs is one big game or even one big hit and he'll be fine.
  17. Marquis has been better, more effective - or however else you want to put it - than Zambrano so far this year and I don't see how somebody can realistically argue otherwise. That said, I don't expect Marquis to outpitch Z for the remainder of the year.
