  1. First time since May 2012 he's given up 7 runs in a game.
  2. I'd put it above that one only because that one was a missed shot and putback. This one had the game tying 3 by Paige followed by the winner. The Butler one against Duke would have been better if Hayward's shot went in. Not only would it have been a half court shot but it would have turned a loss into a win instead of a tie into a win.
  3. I'll be watching tonight but I won't have to stay up until 1 a.m. to do so.
  4. Rizzo's stance looks more closed than last year. His front foot is on the chalk.
  5. While it's unclear which position the Raiders are targeting, it will be a big shock if their first pick isn't a defensive player. They signed a CB and a LB/DE in free agency so I'll go with... DT Sheldon Rankins, Louisville.
  6. If Daniel Sturridge wasn't amazingly selfish and lazy L'pool would have won 3-1. Spurs were lucky to draw. For sure. It's certainly a good result for Spurs, especially the way the game went. Realistically, they probably need to win five games to win the title, and a draw in the sixth would be nice. That would give them either 77 or 78 points and Leicester would need 4 wins and a draw (if it's 78) to win the title, which certainly isn't a given. That being said, I don't think it happens. Spurs lost the title in the first half when they drew every other game (they were 6-8-2 at one point) and then the home loss to Leicester in January in a game they should have won. Win that and they'd be 2 points up right now instead of 4 back.
  7. If Leicester wins tomorrow, I think we can call the title race.
  8. Is there not broadcast video of this? http://vid64.photobucket.com/albums/h184/soccer10k/barrettgrandslam040906.mp4
  9. It was Polanco who got snipered, not Marte.
  10. He'd be my bet for MoY this year. Washington underperformed due to injuries and Matt Williams so they were already a prime bounce-back candidate. If they win 90+ games and make the playoffs, he's going to be pointed to as part of the reason why.
  11. We're not losing and we're probably not even tying. The last time the US failed to win a home qualifier was the final one for the 2010 Cup, a 2-2 tie against Costa Rica. That was the final qualifier and came 4 days after we clinched qualification. The last time the US lost a home qualifier was for the 2002 Cup, when they lost 3-2 to Honduras. Since that game, the US has played 28 home qualifiers. They've won 26 and drawn 2 (the other one was in the final game of the third round against Jamaica after we'd won the first 5 and I'd guess we played a bunch of reserves). They'll win 3-0, they'll roll Saint Vincent on the road and then come back home and beat T&T. This team was in the same position four years ago, won their next three games and then went 7-1-2 in the Hex. Klinsmann should be gone, but it's not going to happen yet.
  12. A: Bryce Harper B: Paul Goldschmidt, Kris Bryant C: Carlos Correa, Miguel Sano, Kyle Schwarber D: Addison Russell, Michael Brantley, Maikel Franco, Jason Heyward, Carlos Gomez
  13. Nice choke job by Virginia. Up 15 with 9:33 to play against a 10 seed and can't close it out.
  14. We were in the same spot last cycle also. Beat Antigua at home then tied Guatemala and lost to T&T, both on the road. Assuming they don't turn this around, they'll be 1-1-1 again. It was Jamaica last cycle but yeah. Yeah, I was looking at both 2014 and 2018 and mixed up the two. We tied T&T in our second game this cycle.
  15. We were in the same spot last cycle also. Beat Antigua at home then tied Guatemala and lost to T&T, both on the road. Assuming they don't turn this around, they'll be 1-1-1 again.
  16. LOL at the half court heave with 4 seconds left.
  17. All UNI-aTm needs is Gus announcing.
  18. Nice choke job by Northern Iowa.
  19. Man City continue to be unable to beat good teams anywhere in the league this year. 0 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses against the top-6 this year and they're 2W, 3D, 9L against the top-10. Pretty happy with Spurs today. Two goals in the first 15 minutes put them well on their way and a third early in the second half killed the game off.
  20. Winner of Iowa State-Virginia is going to get one of 10 Syracuse, 11 Gonzaga or 15 Middle Tennessee St. in the regional final.
  21. I think they were good value for that 1-0; Oshazaki should have had at least 1 more at the start of the second half, and for all Palace's pressure in the final 15 their best chance fell to a central defender. Alan Pardew is not a good coach. He did this same "start strong and then lose a thousand straight games" at Newcastle. Yeah, they weren't bad by any means, but they probably should have only taken 4 points from the two games. Newcastle showed better than Palace, I thought.
