  1. So the Mets are probably going to get a WC spot, or at least they should. They're 1.5 behind SF and 1 behind St. Louis but here's their remaining schedule: 1 @ Cincy 3 @ Atlanta 3 @ Washington 3 vs. Minnesota 3 vs. Atlanta 4 vs. Philly 3 @ Miami 3 @ Philly St. Louis and SF have more games against each other than the Mets do against teams over .500. Giants also get 6 against LA while the Cards play the Cubs 6 times.
  2. There are only three other parks where the Cubs could possibly have lost more games at than Miller in that time frame so it shouldn't be too surprising. None of the other three teams in the division has had any sort of extended success in that time.
  3. They'd still be favored to win the division. Neither the Cardinals or Pirates look like they are getting to the 89 wins the Cubs already have. Would factoring in the 6 wins they'd get from beating the Cubs change that at all or did you already take that into account?
  4. Rougned Odor currently has 30 HRs and only 14 walks. He's currently the only player in MLB history with at least a 2-1 HR:BB with at least 10 BBs. If it's dropped to 5 BBs, he's still one of only 3.
  5. It got brought up in yesterday's thread but the fact that the Cubs could lose 25 straight games and still have a good chance of at least grabbing a wild card is amazing.
  6. Now show how many were up by 16.5 games on Labor Day, Carrie. Or just up by 10 games.
  7. The Red Sox outscored the A's 27-5 this weekend and only won 2 of 3.
  8. Just clinch it with a win this year.
  9. I started watching when it was 31-21 and I'm wondering how the Texas offense managed 31 points in 2 1/2 quarters.
  10. Of course he does. That would mean the Giants not only got in but won a round.
  11. Baseball really needs to limit the number of players a manager can use in a September game to 25. You pick a 25 man before each game and that's what you go with. This is ridiculous.
  12. Add another walkoff dong to the highlight reel, Rizzo.
  13. Cueto went two more innings than Lackey and yet Bochy has used two more relievers than the Cubs have through the 12th.
  14. Montero (I assume with a righty warming), Fowler, KB in the bottom half.
  15. Nathan warming up for the Giants. That's good news.
  16. O/U 2.5 pitching changes by Bochy this inning? I assume he'll bring in a lefty to face Heyward, so there's 1. And he'll bring in a righty for Contreras, which is 2.
  17. You just called 3 of those balls, ump. Idiot.
