Uhhhhhhhh... I do think it’s funny that he was a league average pitcher his first 5 years, went to Baltimore and got noticeably worse, then left Baltimore and got much better (only 11 starts so far though).

For this year I’d pick Oakland in the World Series because I could actually go to a game. I’d definitely go Cards and Dodgers though for the other two. I assume you mean teams we could actually face this year otherwise I would say the Mets as my second team.

You say this like it's something they're not likely to be able to do. With the caveat that winning the division is significantly better than winning the wild card, don’t forget that the Cubs 98 or 99% to make the playoffs now. The past two weeks have pretty much made the worst case scenario to be a road wild card game. So this isn’t a division or bust scenario barring a complete collapse.

The Brewers also gave up 23 runs in their last four games and could have easily lost 3 of 4. And are you really complaining about a 4 game stretch after they just had a 6 game stretch where they scored 8, 7, 3, 10, 9 and 7? That’s 7.3 runs per game which is better than what the Cards and Brewers just did over the 4 game stretch you just cited.

Just from the Gamecast that seemed like a horsefeathers AB from Rizzo. Slider high, swings though a middle middle FB and swings at a FB a foot out of the zone.

Following on Gamecast and I saw in play, outs on a pitch low and on the outer portion of the zone and I knew it was a DP.

I don't watch Toronto FC a ton, but I believe he did it in emergencies last year and more often this year. Probably because TFC has been hammered by injuries + fixture congestion so there's more times where that's been needed. Yeah they're much stronger at CM than they are CB and he's smart enough to pull off the position swap in emergencies. He had the one mistake which lead to the second goal (probably was partially on the keeper but I haven’t seen a replay) but overall he was really good back there. Shut horsefeathers down for the most part.

I’m pretty sure Monty could get shelled every time out and I still wouldn’t completely hate him solely because he got the last out in 2016.

I know it doesn’t mean a ton but I like that we’ve only faced them once in a playoff series and we won that series (and in dong-tastic fashion) and I don’t want them to get a chance at revenge. Plus if they get in they have a chance to win it all and I definitely don’t want that to happen.

That would be an okay outcome. The Dodgers take out the Cardinals in the elimination game and the Cubs get revenge on the Dodgers for last year. Totally fine with that. I’d rather have the Dodgers and Cards both not make it.
