  1. Arizona would have to pass us too. Cubs are 77-60, Ari is 73-65, SD is 72-65. The Cubs have the tiebreaker over both. Basically either the Cubs would have to really suck and both Ari/SD would have to be decent (aka, the 2023 Cubs formula) or the Cubs would have to be .500ish and both of Ari/SD would have to get hot. Oh and Ari-SD play 3 times to end the year. The difference between 2026 and 2023 is we don't have H2H games left. The 2023 team blew it because they went 1-6 against Arizona in Sept.
  2. I love how he always has this confused look on his face after every home run as if he’s thinking “how did they hit that pitch out”.
  3. Was just thinking how Shota hadn’t given up a HR yet today.
  4. If you told me before the game that the Res scored 10 runs, I would have assumed Suarez homered at least one time.
  5. Lol. Didn’t take long for the pen to blow up today.
  6. Not that it changes your point at all but it’s 2 teams: Texas Tech and Miami.
  7. I think you’re right. I’ve always thought of it as a day game when a team is leaving for a new city right after the game. I mean, Sunday actually qualifies as more of a getaway day than today because the Cubs played on Monday night but are off tomorrow.
  8. Also, I totally get that over the course of the season, losing 1 run games is better than getting blown out. But as a fan, those 13-1 games are usually easier to handle than watching a game for 3 hours only to get kicked in the dick right at the end.
  9. It wouldn’t be unrealistic for the Cubs to have gone 5-0 in the last 5 and then we’d be only 2.5 back of Milwaukee instead of 5.5 back.
  10. Only thing I can think is that they want to save both just in case for the bottom of the ninth. Means the Cubs can challenge more calls.
  11. Spurs: still crap!
  12. Reds led 5-4 in the ninth inning against the Cardinals. Two on, two out, flyball to left center and the CF drops the ball. Cards end up getting 6 runs and lead 10-5. As if that wasn’t painful enough, the Reds had a 10 out of 10 fake rally in the bottom half. They got 4 runs and had the bases loaded with two outs before lining out to end the game.
  13. Sox had at least one that would have been a HR too. I’m sure there were others for both teams.
  14. LOL I had the same thought. Wasn't that deep and barely made it past the dirt after 2nd base.
  15. No way they send him with less than 2 outs. For one, Kelly would have hesitated on the hit rather than taking off on contact.
