It's only a "poor use of draft picks" if you traded up and don't land the guy you are targeting. I personablly believe the Bears are interested in trading up for Jeanty, partly because they do love him but also there is nobody that will be available @ 10 they covet. I rather the Bears trade up for a guy they covet instead of staying put and settling for a guy they only like.
I do not mind trading up for Jeanty. I do mind if Poles has to overpay to get it done. That is not a gross overpay but still an overpay.
Bears Now suggested something like 10 and 41 to Jax for 5 and a 4th rd pick. I would be cool with something like that.
Give me Jeanty or Hampton in the first tomorrow night. I don't care about the whole "don't draft RB's in the first rd" thing, I'm looking at who gives the Bears a player who can and will play early and often.
I did not love those 80-78 games anymore than the 140-120 type scores we see today.
I must confess that my interests of the NBA is based on my enjoyment of Bulls basketball. Right now, Bulls basketball is not very enjoyable.
A lot of people love watching PCA run, myself included, but I, also love watching Pete Alonso run for different reasons. I can not stop watching Alonso run during his triple against the Cardinals.
I know. At least with the Hawks there is something brewing. The Bulls are content to be strapped to the treadmill of mediocrity, gladly accepting playoffs adjacent games.
