    I'm out for the night, headed down to Anaheim to catch an Angels game. I leave you with some scores: Buck Coats gets a sac fly in the bottom of the 2nd and Iowa leads it 8-0 after 2. EPatt grounded out in his second AAA at bat. West Tenn is up 4-3 in the bottom of the 2nd. Scott Moore with a 2-run HR. Daytona is up 5-4 in the top of the 9th. Peoria is tied at 2 in the bottom of the 6th. Scott Taylor: 5 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 2 K.

    According to the Iowa box score and gamecast. And he hit a solo HR in his first AB at AAA.

    Err, apparently Eric Patterson was promoted to Iowa today. He just homered in his first AAA at bat. Iowa put up 7 in the bottom of the first. The highlights: Michael Restovich with an RBI triple. Freddie Bynum scores. 1-0 Iowa. Jeff Deardorff with an RBI double. Restovich scores. 2-0 Iowa. Casey McGehee with an RBI double. Deardoff scores. 3-0 Iowa. Buck Coats with an RBI double. McGehee scores. 4-0 Iowa. Jesse Hoorelbeke hits a 2-run HR. Coats scores. 6-0 Iowa. Eric Patterson hits a solo HR. 7-0 Iowa.     Uhh, Harvey has definitely changed his approach at this point. The announcers are talking about how's he's taking pitches now that he would have flailed away at earlier in the season...anyways he grounds out 6-3 this time on a 7-pitch AB (an AB in which Harvey fell behind 0-2 and battled back to a full count).

    Daytona is up 5-4 in the top of the 8th. Carlos Perez couldn't get out of the 4th inning: 3.2 IP, 3 R, 2 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 3 K. Grant Johnson in relief: 3 IP, 1 ER, H, 1 K. Tim Layden: 0.1 IP, 0 R, 1 H, allows an inherited runner of Grant Johnson's to score. Ryan Harvey: 0 for 3, strikeout. Peoria up 2-0 in the middle of the 4th. Scott Taylor: 3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 0 K

    Daytona already up 1-0 in the top of the first. Ryan Harvey vs. Jaime Garcia, with 2 on, 1 out: Ball 1 low and in. Ball 2 low and in. Ball 3 low and in. Strike 1 at the knees. Fouled right back. Good pitch up in the strike zone. Popped out to shallow RF. Just got under it. Matt Ciaramella was retired for the third out. Daytona leads it 1-0 in the middle of the first.

    They think everyone wants to see that crap. I'm shocked that the folks in the Midwest are actually getting the Cubs-Cards. I'm in the midwest and I'm getting Red Sox/NYY crap. Ridiculous. Wow...sad. We always get one of the Cali teams, Padres, Angels, Dodgers, Giants or A's (and once in a rare while, a Cubs game...like the Cubs-Yanks in 03 where Hee Seop got knoced out).

    Ehh, I have faith in Wilken given his track record. Can't see the harm in being higher in such a loaded draft.

    He doesn't throw as hard as John. But I think he'll have a similar career (some success from time to time) to John, with quite a few chances at the big league level.

    The one in the mid-80s was a 12-6 curve and the one in the low 80s was probably his change. Why did Homer only go 4.2 IP? It's good to see Evan back in the lineup and healthy. Gotta root for the local kids. :)

    I think it was explained quite well already -- ARod was the superior player at that position. Pretty simple, actually. If you think the hatred for aRod is bad now, imagine if he had taken Jeter's position. If I'm the Yankees or a Yankee fan, I don't care if people hate one of my players. I only care for what makes my team better, and Rodriguez playing SS is that.

    I didn't think you'd take 8 million solo HR's literally. I didn't. I also know better than to think that Corey has a higher rate of solo HR's than most.
