  1. 4. Quality of the product on the field at Wrigley.
  2. And on the topic of the Hot Sheet, Veal was once again not mentioned! Maestri and Fox got some love though, both getting mentioned "In the Team Photo":
  3. Make a thread in Baseball Discussions if you really want to pursue this. Oh, okay. All it would take is just one response, but if you think that is the way to go, that is what I'll do. As you can see from the posts that followed this one, even if just one response is needed, something about Dusty will open up a can of worms not related to Donnie Veal.
  4. I'd prefer Fredi Gonzalez over Girardi.
  5. Make a thread in Baseball Discussions if you really want to pursue this.
  6. Split the Cedeno stuff into its own thread...
  7. From what I had heard, it was the Yankees and the Cubs.
  8. Ryu: 86/39, 1.29 WHIP Baez: 39/13, 1.05 WHIP Baez overall: 58/25, 1.22 WHIP Holliman: 98/52, 1.34 WHIP Taylor: 54/17, 1.15 WHIP Kopach: 1/12, 1.92 WHIP Kopach overall: 8/18, 1.44 WHIP Renshaw: 13/5, 1.50 WHIP Parker: 22/7, 1.22 WHIP
  9. Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Jae-Kuk Ryu (5-6, 3.72 ERA, 104 IP) vs. LHP Roger Deago (4-3, 4.71 ERA) WT: RHP Federico Baez (2-0, 2.10 ERA, 51.1 IP; overall: 2-3, 2.97 ERA, 72.2 IP) @ RHP Jose Garcia (3-5, 3.09 ERA) Daytona: RHP Mark Holliman (7-8, 4.53 ERA, 113.1 IP) Peoria: RHP Scott Taylor: (7-6, 3.31 ERA, 114.1 IP) @ RHP TJ Franco (2-1, 4.70 ERA) Boise: RHP Kitt Kopach (0-0, 5.25 ERA, 12 IP; overall: 0-0, 3.80 ERA, 23.2 IP) @ RHP Matt Buschmann (2-2, 2.90 ERA) Mesa: RHP Jake Renshaw (0-0, 5.50 ERA, 18 IP) & LHP Taylor Paker (1-1, 2.41 ERA, 33.2 IP) *Take Mesa's probable starter with a grain of salt as they shuffle their pitchers around with frequency.
  10. It's great that these guys are hitting well recently, but I want to see it for a longer time before I get too excited (especially Harvey and Dopirak). Too small a sample size.
  11. Choi-Hill-Montanez-Teixeira!
  12. What's the book on him? The only info I've found was on the WNCC website and it said he featured a 90-MPH FB...decent for CC I guess but unless he's got advanced secondary pitches I don't see him having much success. Well, he's coming out of HS, so he has time. Sounds interesting, splendid splinter. I hope you're right.
  13. The Padres beat the Cubs 9-3. Downs gave up 4 in 1.1 innings of work (4 hits, 1 HR, 1 walk, 1 K). Cuevas-Novas also struggled, giving up 3 ER in 3 innings. Oscar Bernard got a shutout inning of work in the 9th. Samson went 1 for 2 with 2 walks, Rundle went 2 for 4 with no strikeouts and Andersen went 2 for 4 with a strikeout.
  14. The Peoria Padres are up on Mesa 8-3 after 4.
  15. Tyler Colvin is now 0 for his last 20. He's all the way down to: .281/.342/.459/.801
  16. Man, they could have had Drew or Weaver...
  17. I go by typical title rules for starting threads. The thread title almost always has all words starting with capitals save for stuff like "the", "and", "to" and so on. Just a habit of mine. My mom - a copy editor/journalist - approves. :thumright:
  18. There are a few starting pitchers in the big leagues who have succeeded with only 2 pitches. And, of course, he has 3 pitches.
  19. Not to completely derail this thread completely, but briefly what happended to Matt Bush and how is he doing(assuming he is playing)? I know he got into some trouble after being drafted. Does he have a bad reputation or does it seem that was a one time thing? He's done horribly and had most of this season derailed by an ankle injury. Here are his stats this season at low-A Ft. Wayne. And here are his career minor league stats. Going into this season, he's been a career .217/.284/.273/.557 hitter in the AZL, NWL and MWL.
  20. Kevin Kreier was indeed the Cubs' 20th rounder. Based on what I found searching the net, it sounds like he'll be a probable DFE, and is headed to Western Nevada Community College. Here's BA's 20th round list, which shows Kreier as not signed yet.
