  1. As long as he knew there wasn't a DB behind him (which he might not know, given his inability to realize a football was coming to him). That'd also be amusing if he ducks and a DB is right there to pick it off.
  2. Ha! Sorry my bad! I'll get one in on the game tonight! Thanks!
  3. He had enough ABs in 2004 to make that his rookie year. If Scout.com is defining a prospect as a player who would qualify as a rookie, BJ wouldn't qualify (that's why BJ hasn't been considered in BA's last two top prospect lists).
  4. He's hearing footsteps, but he'll get used to it. After he meets Roy and DeMarcus...he won't be on the field. Footsteps? Who's near him, the ref?
  5. They anticipate his arm will fall off after his 127-pitch CG last night? Man, imagine Santana, Liriano and Garza next season... While I disagree with a lot of the rankings, I commend them for ranking 300 prospects.
  6. Colon left today's game after 1 inning with an injury so Maddux might help as well. ARam and Cedeno for Wood, Mathis and Kendrick. Maddux to the other LA for Laroche. Laroche, Mathis, and EPatt for Cabrera. Lee/Kendrick/Wood/Cabrera infield in 2007? I could live with that. Wood and Kendrick are nation-wide top-10 prospects (heck, arguably top-5). To get both, you'll have to give up more than just Aramis and Ronnie.
  7. What did you say?! Are they going to replace his hand with a claw? Man, that'll do something to the grips on his pitches. Imagine the movement now...
  8. Or this one: http://graphics.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2005/10/12/1129119974_1584.jpg
  9. Shoulda used this pic instead of the one at MLB.com for Weaver: http://www.sportserver.com/images/gallery/baseball/mlb/20020707/nyy2128.3.jpg
  10. The Holdzkom and Weston stuff was posted in a previous thread, but Norton being cut, Sotolongo being demoted to Peoria and the addition of Bicondoa are new. This means Petrick should make his 2006 Daytona debut on Friday.
  11. It happened on Monday: viewtopic.php?t=34058 http://www.northsidebaseball.com/PremiumForum/viewtopic.php?t=34058 EDIT: Might as well merge the threads.
  12. Game time is 7:05 pm CT, the game is on WGN and ESPN and WGN Radio 720. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/213711.jpg @ http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/448179.jpg LHP Rich Hill (AAA: 7-1, 1.80 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 100 IP, 135 Ks, 21 BBs) will try to end his big league struggles (0-4, 9.31 ERA, 1.97 WHIP, 19.1 IP, 11 Ks, 15 BBs). The Cards will counter with RHP Jeff Weaver (4-11, 6.32 ERA), who, sadly, doesn't look as stoned in this picture as he normally does. At game time, winds will be blowing out to CF at about 10 mph. It will be partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers. The game time temp will be 83°F (though it will feel more like 90°F). The chance of thunderstorms will get better as the game progresses...
  13. By the way, the I-Cubs could flip flop Jerome and Angel as they both pitched on the same day the last time out (doubleheader) and would be on 4-days rest on Friday.
  14. Campusano continues to be lights out after his double promotion from Peoria: 17.1 IP, 17 H, 2.60 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, .246 BAA, 24 Ks, 3 BBs. The only major concern are that opponents are getting approximately twice the hits against him at AA as compared to low-A. Also, lefties are hitting .333 against him in 18 West Tenn ABs, which is a tad disappointing. Lefties hit .130 against him at Peoria in 24 ABs.
  15. By the way...Ron Potesta >>>>>>>>> Chattanooga's announcer. He's making me want to take a nap.
  16. 6-4 is the final, Campusano gets the win with a 1-2-3 9th! The Jaxx 2 back of Chattanooga again with 2 more games left in this series.
  17. Probably Jerome Williams. Woulda been Hill had he not been promoted.
  18. Mateo has recovered pretty well from that 2nd inning: 6 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 5 K, 2 BB.
  19. This really isn't the series for the Jaxx to struggle so mightily...
  20. :?: Clarence Thomas, Anita Hill, confirmation hearings, pubic hair, can of coke, long dong silver...... any of this ring a bell? I think he was barely a teenage when this happened. At least Reynolds won't call this a "high-tech lynching." So? I was 7 at the time and know all about my high-tech lynchings.
  21. Uhh, Mesa's game has supposedly been rained out. Even though there's not a drop of rain in the Valley of the Sun right now and the other two games in the Valley are going as scheduled. Color me skeptical.
