  1. And a HUGE Kevin Dyson fan. :)
  2. Yeah. He's had 3 total starts with LA, his most recent two were at Dodger Stadium.
  3. 4. I personally find it very interesting and peculiar that Maddux has done well in back-to-back starts in a pitcher-friendly environment like Dodger Stadium. And it is unsual for players to go through slumps and hot streaks.
  5. Rundle with a triple now, Parker with another RBI double and Mesa now leads 7-3 in the 6th. Robert Hernandez: 4 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 ER, BB, 2 K.
  6. Mesa up 5-2 in the middle of the 4th. Ceda started and gave up his first 2 runs in the Cubs system (only 1 was earned. He got 6 Ks, though - his final line: 2 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BBs, 6 K. Robert Hernandez has followed with 2 shutout innings: 3 H, 0 R, BB, K. Rundle is 0 for 0 with a sac fly and a walk, Sampson is 1 for 1 with a BB and Parker is 1 for 2 with a 2-RBI double.
  7. Jaxx win it in a DH-shortened 7 innings, 3-1. JR Mathes goes the distance and has a season-high 11 strikeouts. Mathes: 7 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 11 K Boise still down 6-4 after 7.
  8. JR Mathes ties his season-high in Ks with 9 through 6 strong so far. The Jaxx lead it in the top of the 7th, 3-1. Thanks for the shoutout, Ron. You're definitely a $20/inning broadcaster. (And thanks Serena for mentioning the shoutout.)
  9. Probably my fault, Ron. My comp had been acting up right before the HR so I got the broadcast started up right as he hit the HR - I probably missed the name you said. I agree with the person who e-mailed you saying you should be paid by the inning. :)
  10. DJaxx lead the Suns in game two 2-1 after 4. Mathes has 6 Ks in 4 innings. Boise down 6-2 in the middle of the 5th. Canzler hit a solo HR in the bottom of the 4th. Renshaw gave up 2 runs in the 4th on a solo HR, single and an RBI triple. His final line is: 4 IP, 5 ER, 8 H, 1 BB, 1 K. Ruhlman gave up the other run in the top of the 5th.
  11. Jake Renshaw's third inning: Renshaw vs. White: Ball 1 outside. Ball 2 low. Ball 3 outside. Strike 1 on the outside corner. Pop out to shallow RF. Renshaw vs. Pimentel: Flyout to LF Renshaw vs. Santin: Strike 1 on the inside corner. Strike 2 fouled back. Fouled back, still 0-2. Ball 1 inside. Ball 2 just missed inside. Bounced foul, still 2-2. Flyout to CF. Jake: 3 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, BB, K, 52 pitches (37 strikes) Boise down 3-0 in the middle of the 3rd.
  12. West Tenn and Jacksonville are scoreless after 1.
  13. Jake Renshaw's second inning: Renshaw vs. Pimentel: 5-3 groundout, complete with a diving stop by Lansford. Renshaw vs. Santin: Strike 1 on the outside corner. Line single to RF. Renshaw vs. Peguero: Single off the glove off Renshaw and into RF. Woulda been a DP ball if Renshaw didn't touch it. Santin to third. Renshaw vs. Fernandez: Strike 1 called. Flyball to RF. Santin tags and scores. Renshaw vs. Zorn: Strike 1 looking. Triple down the LF line, Peguero scores. Renshaw vs. Reynolds: Ball 1 inside. Ball 2 high and outside. Ball 3 outside. Ball 4 low. Renshaw vs. Villezcas: Strike 1 on the outside corner. Line single to RF, Zorn scores, Reynolds to third. Renshaw vs. Sabatella: Strike 1 on the outside corner. Ball 1 high. Ground out, 5-3. Jake: 2 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 1 K, 39 pitches (29 strikes) Boise down 3-0 in the middle of the second.
  14. Jake Renshaw's first inning: Renshaw vs. Reynolds: Strike 1 looking, inside corner. Fouled back, strike 2. Strike 3 looking! Renshaw vs. Villezcas: Fouled back, strike 1. Strike 2 looking. FO-7 Renshaw vs. Sabatella: Ball 1 inside. Strike 1 looking. Ball 2 just outside. Fouled back, strike 2 Chopped foul, it remains a 2-2 count. Ball 3 outside. Check swing IF single to third base. Renshaw vs. White: Ball 1 low. Ball 2. Strike 1 swinging. Strike 2 on the outside corner. Foul out to third base. Renshaw: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 K, 18 pitches (13 strikes) 0-0 to the bottom of the first in Boise.
  15. They will. In 30 minutes. Did Jacksonville literally go through all of their relief pitchers, or did they just go through the allotted amount so that they'd have enough left for the bottom half of today's doubleheader? From the way Ron talked, I'm not sure which, but I'd assume it was just the allotment for game 1. They used 5 relievers and then the catcher - remember they started playing today in the 4th inning, so the starting pitcher only went 3.2. I know one of their relievers is not available today because he's sick. The Jaxx used 7 relievers in the game. Reith (didn't know he was on the roster) and Pavlik were the only relievers not used in game 1.
  16. Raglani with a 3-run HR off Brownlie in the bottom of the 20th. Jacksonville wins 5-2.
  17. Top of the 19th: Fox HBP on a "56 mph pitch." Weston singles, Fox to second. Wild pitch on a "49 mph pitch." Fox to third, Weston to second. Sing pops out to CF Adam Greenberg. 1 out. Negron IBB, bases loaded. Ron called the IBB pitches "lolipops." Rojas flies out to Greenberg, Fox scores, Weston to third. Jaxx lead 2-1! Two outs. Brownlie flies out to RF. In the middle of the 19th, West Tenn leads it 2-1! Bottom of the 19th, Brownlie pitching: Gutierrez singles to RF. Dewitt grounds out, 3-1. Gutierrez to second, 1 out. Ellis singles to RF, Gutierrez scores to tie the game at 2. Ellis out at 2nd on a great throw by Negron. 2 outs. Bruce strikes out swinging. To the 20th we go, tied at 2. And remember, game 2 of the doubleheader is right after this game...
  18. Still 1-1 as we go to the top of the 19th inning in Jacksonville. The Suns are out of relievers and will have to use position players on the mound the rest of the way (unless they dip in to their starters). Starting catcher AJ Ellis will be pitching now (he already threw once earlier this year, giving up 1 ER in 2.1 innings).
  19. I crack up every time I hear that the Jaxx' trainer is Matt Johnson...I have a close friend with the same name and could never picture him as a trainer. To the 15th we go...this is a great way to start a doubleheader...
  20. Crap, Ed Campusano hurt himself and has to leave the Jaxx game with 2 outs in the 14th inning. Carlos Vasquez is coming in. Ron suggested it might be a back injury but no details as of yet...
  21. Senior WR Joe Cowan, UCLA's leading returning receiver will probably miss the season with a torn ligament in his knee which he suffered in practice last week. :(
  22. It's good to hear Ron again...
  23. Williams isn't pitching like someone who wants to earn his way back to the majors. I'm not sure he even warrants a callup when the rosters expand in September. He had been doing much better until his last couple of starts.
  24. My only guess is Dusty looks at numbers and doesn't recognize sample size. Barrett 1-7 against Kim coming into taday's game. Mabry 1-1 against Kim coming into today's game. Dusty said he moved Barrett down in the order because it was a day game after a night game. :-k
