  1. Game 1. Who shall we pitch to...Mike Lowell or Lenny Harris? ](*,)
  2. Boise wins it 4-3. They scored the go-ahead run in the 9th: Lansford walks (shocking), Canzler sac bunted, Camp was intentionally walked, and with DJ Lewis batting, Fister uncorked two wild pitches allowing Lansford to score. Clipp got the save, despite allowing the tying and go-ahead runners to get into scoring position.
  3. yeah, that was disappointing. Maybe you should skim some of my posts.
  4. NO ONE should skim my genius posts.
  5. GEEZ. Next pitch is a 2-run shot. All tied up at 3.
  6. *cough* :P On top of that, both teams hit a few guys yesterday and there were warnings. And Francisco gives up back-to-back doubles to start the bottom of the 7th and Everett is on the board, down 3-1.
  7. Ejections: Everett AquaSox pitcher Natividad Dilone ejected by HP umpire Phil Henry. Everett AquaSox catcher Jair Fernandez ejected by HP umpire Phil Henry. Everett AquaSox right fielder Jose Graterol ejected by HP umpire Phil Henry. Boise Hawks Alfred Joseph ejected by HP umpire Phil Henry. Boise Hawks third baseman Elvin Puello ejected by HP umpire Phil Henry. The guy who started the fight by punching Joseph, Dean Zorn of Everett, was *not* ejected.
  8. ALL OUT BENCH-CLEARING MELEE IN THE BOISE GAME! These teams hate each other, benches have cleared 2 times in 3 games. Here's what happened: Joseph was running across first, the throw was high and the tag was at Jospeh's head, knocking his helmet off. Apparently Joseph wasn't too happy, yelled at the first baseman, and the benches cleared. Then, some guy from Everett's bench (Zorn?) punched Joseph and other punches were thrown. Elvin Puello apparently played a huge part in the brawl as he was ejected. Colvin had to restrain Joseph. Now Boise's manager is mad at the ejections.
  9. Peoria wins 7-3. YUSUF! with another HR! Iowa up 3-0 in the 5th. Pie singles to shortstop, steals second, takes 3rd on a Fontenot 4-3 FC and scored on a Restovich sac fly.
  10. DON'T HATE ON STEPHEN A. SMITH! :x
  11. Hopefully Huseby makes his debut down in Mesa soon, there was a chance it would happen this week.
  12. I've looked all over the net and can't find anything about what happened to him.
  13. Brandon Emanuel, not Rich Hill, will be starting game 2 for the I-Cubs. Sorry, abuck.
  14. Wow, Dolis with 8 Ks? Kid seems like an intriguing guy if he's racking up the Ks now to go with the BBs from previous starts.
  15. Wow Carrillo has had an excellent day. In his first start of the year he's gone 8IP 8H 2R (2 solo homers) 10/2 K/BB ratio. Is that the longest outing for a Mesa starter so far? Easily.
  16. While his K/BB ratio has been great in the minors, he also walked too many guys. Can't say about the nibbling comment since I've only seen one of his games. I'm more just frustrated that none of the Cubs minor leaguers seems to be able to have the same results in the K/BB department that they developed in the minors. Marmol's just one of any number of guys you can point to that doesn't walk anyone in the minors, then comes up and walks the world. while it is expected to a certain extent because they are facing full rosters of major league hitters, you would think one of Wuertz, Aardsma, Ryu, Guz, Hill, Marmol, etc. could come up and not walk the world. even Prior keeps slipping in this department. if you want to see evidence of Rothschild's nibbling philosophy, there's no better place to look than Mr. 0-2 to 3-2 himself. I definitely want Uncle Larry gone, but I just want it noted that most pitchers (no matter the team) will have their K/BB slip once they hit the big leagues for a myriad of reasons.
  17. Abuck, that's a qualified guess on my part. This morning, Iowa had it as TBA for Game 1, but Rich is on 4 days rest and would be perfect to start today. That's great news if Ryu is ready.
  18. Probable Starters: Iowa (game 1): LHP Rich Hill (6-1, 1.94 ERA, 92.2 IP, 121/20, 0.87 WHIP) Iowa (game 2): TBD West Tenn: RHP Federico Baez (2-0, 2.21 ERA, 36.2 IP, 31/11, 1.06 WHIP) vs. RHP Jim Magrane (11-7, 3.16 ERA) Daytona (game 1): LHP Phil Norton (1-0, 1.59 ERA, 11.1 IP, 7/6, 1.41 WHIP) Daytona (game 2): RHP Mark Holliman (7-5, 4.10 ERA, 98.2 IP, 89/42, 1.25 WHIP) Peoria: RHP Scott Taylor: (5-5, 3.35 ERA, 91.1 IP, 42/15, 1.22 WHIP) @ RHP Casey McKenzie (0-2, 5.28 ERA) Boise: LHP Mark Pawelek (0-3, 4.41 ERA, 16.1 IP, 12/10, 7 HBP, 1.65 WHIP) Mesa: RHP Alberto Albuquerque* (0-1, 5.63 ERA, 8 IP, 11/6, 1.63 WHIP) *Take Mesa's probable starter with a grain of salt as they shuffle their pitchers from the rotation to the pen with frequency.
  19. I think Gallagher should be rated higher - for the reasons you've stated - and also because, Gallagher has better control than Veal and his secondary pitches are more advanced. Veal is still pretty raw.
  20. Sign me up for Ethier OR Broxton, let alone both.
  21. While his K/BB ratio has been great in the minors, he also walked too many guys. Can't say about the nibbling comment since I've only seen one of his games.
  22. Colvin strikes out in his 6th AB of the game and for the second straight game, comes one XBH shy of the cycle. Joseph failed to hit a HR so he too did not get a cycle. Boise wins it 13-7.
  23. Not only is Tyler Colvin a triple shy of the cycle, Alfred Joseph is a HR shy of the cycle. Colvin flies out to LF in his 5th AB in the top of the 8th. In the middle of the 8th, Boise still leads 10-7.
