  1. Sweet...that explains why he wasn't in West Tenn's lineup.
  2. Alfonso made no attempt to get out of the way and should not have been awarded first. Fred, do you remember back in the day when Drysdale was going for the consecutive scoreless inning record he had the bases loaded, hit a batter, the ump called it a ball because the batter made no attempt to move, then Drysdale got him out to end the inning and keep the streak alive? By the way, if the batter is in the strike zone when hit, the ump is supposed to call a strike. Like an ump would call that in this day and age. :|
  3. Randy Wells is starting for Iowa. Iowa jumps ahead 1-0 in the first thanks to a Pie triple and an EPatt sac fly. Nashville plays at 6 pm CT. Bobby Brownlie is starting for West Tenn. They're up 1-0 in the third inning.
  4. No, they'll female the playoffs. Hey now, I think I deserve kudos for only one typo when I did that before 8 am on a three-day weekend! Daytona won game one of their doubleheader as Mark Holliman continued the trend of pitchers finishing strong in the minors: 6.1 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 3 K. Ryan Harvey went 1 for 3 with a BB and a K. Jeremy Williams hit his second HR of the season. Game 2 - Daytona's last game of the season - is about to get started.

  6. Standings: PCL American North Nashville 75-67 .528 - --- Magic Number: 1 Iowa 74-68 .521 1.0 --- 2 games remaining West Tenn, Daytona and Mesa won't male the playoffs. Peoria and Boise already have.
  7. Probable Starters Iowa: TBD @ RHP Bobby Keppel (6-6, 5.44 ERA) West Tenn: TBD vs. RHP Eddy Valdez (7-9 3.93 ERA) Daytona (game 1): RHP Justin Berg (7-7, 4.30 ERA) Daytona (game 2): RHP Mark Holliman (7-11, 4.51 ERA) Peoria: RHP Jesse Estrada (6-1, 3.34 ERA) @ LHP Ryan Mullins (5-7, 3.77 ERA) Boise: RHP Billy Muldowney (1-2, 2.33 ERA) vs. RHP Aneury Rodriguez (3-4, 4.57 ERA) Berg (game 1): 113 IP, 82 K/52 BB Holliman (game 2): 137.2 IP, 118/56 Estrada: 89 IP, 57/27 Muldowney: 38.2 IP, 39/11 I'd guess RHP Hugo Castellanos (0-1, 1.88 ERA) will pitch for the Jaxx today.
  8. I thought it was him to was really confident about U of I covering 30 and betting so? No he is an ND fan. I don't know where the U of I thing came from. Him going to school there?
  9. Is SSR even a U of I football fan? I thought he was an ND fan.
  10. Exactly.
  11. West Tenn won 5-3. Peoria wins 6-5. Short outing from Taylor: 4 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 5 K. Boise is up 3-2 in the 8th. Pawelek: 5 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 0 BB, 5 K.
  12. St. Lucie won and Palm Beach lost, so the D-Cubs are 1.5 back of Palm Beach. If the second of Daytona's games today are cancelled, I'm pretty sure they are eliminated from the playoffs.
  13. West Tenn up 4-3 on Chattanooga in the 6th. Peoria is tied at 4 after 6. Boise and Tri-City tied at 2 in the bottom of the 5th. Pawelek: 5 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 0 BB, 5 K.
  14. Yeah, it was the other way around.
  15. No kidding.
  16. So THAT'S what a good defense looks like. :D UCLA wins 31-10. Ben Olson: 25/33, 318 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs. Not bad for your first start in college.
  17. Nashville loses. Iowa now 1 back with 2 games. Again, Nashville's magic number is 1 because they hold the tiebreaker.
  18. Iowa wins 8-2. Pie: 1/5, HR, 3 K EPatt: 2/5, K Ryu: 8 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 5 H, 3 BB, 2 K, 99 pitches (57 strikes) - finishes the season with a 3.23 ERA Nashville down 14-3 in the 9th.
  19. Luis Montanez gets into the HR fun and Iowa is now up 8-2 in the top of the 9th. Nashville down 14-2 in the 7th. Homer Bailey. 0+ IP, 4 ER, 3 H, 4 BB, WP.
  20. Nashville down 14-0 after 4! Iowa up 6-2 in the top of the 7th. Casey McGehee and Buck Coats just went back-to-back. Pie 1/4, HR, K EPatt 1/4, K Restovich 3/4, HR McGehee 1/4, HR Coats 2/3, BB, HR Ryu: 6 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 2 K, 76 pitches (44 strikes). If these scores hold up, Iowa will be 1 back with 2 games left (but Nashville still has the tiebreaker).
  21. UCLA up 14-10 at the half. Ben Olson has looked pretty good, but has tailed off a bit in the second half. Absolutely NO running game so far. The second TD was a on a pick-6 by true freshman Alterraun Verner. UCLA's D has looked good, struggled a bit against the option.
  22. If any team could do it...
