  1. Daytona already up 1-0 in the top of the first. Ryan Harvey vs. Jaime Garcia, with 2 on, 1 out: Ball 1 low and in. Ball 2 low and in. Ball 3 low and in. Strike 1 at the knees. Fouled right back. Good pitch up in the strike zone. Popped out to shallow RF. Just got under it. Matt Ciaramella was retired for the third out. Daytona leads it 1-0 in the middle of the first.
  2. A fluff piece on Felix from MiLB.com
  3. Anyone think with the blown leads, Z is going the distance next time out (no matter what)?
  4. Hopefully Angel's back in the rotation once O'Malley starts struggling.
  5. My friend filmed that commercial. Got Lee to sign a baseball for him and take a pic with him. My friend is a Dodger fan, didn't tell me till it was too late for me to get to the filming site. :(
  6. Not Pie-related, but the part about what Dusty said about Z makes me mad.
  7. Standings: PCL American North Nashville 68-59 .535 - Iowa 63-64 .496 5.0 --- 17 games remaining SL North Tennessee 32-22 .593 - Huntsville 30-23 .566 1.5 Chatanooga* 29-25 .537 3.0 West Tenn 26-29 .481 6.0 --- 16 games remaining FSL East St. Lucie* 31-23 .574 - Palm Beach 30-24 .556 1.0 Daytona 29-24 .547 1.5 --- 17 games remaining Peoria already clinched a playoff spot by winning the MWL North in the first half. They are 7 back of first place right now and have 15 games remaining NWL East Boise 33-25 .569 - Tri-City 31-27 .534 2.0 --- 18 games remaining Mesa is 5.5 back of the AZL lead, with 6 teams tied or ahead of them. They have 9 games remaining. *First-half division winner.
  8. They think everyone wants to see that crap. I'm shocked that the folks in the Midwest are actually getting the Cubs-Cards. I'm in the midwest and I'm getting Red Sox/NYY crap. Ridiculous. Wow...sad. We always get one of the Cali teams, Padres, Angels, Dodgers, Giants or A's (and once in a rare while, a Cubs game...like the Cubs-Yanks in 03 where Hee Seop got knoced out).
  9. Ehh, I have faith in Wilken given his track record. Can't see the harm in being higher in such a loaded draft.
  10. And he's a worse manager. Don't even think about it, Hendry.
  11. I miss good Z. :( Remember when the Cubs were going to sweep the Cardinals? Oh well, if this helps us get Price or Wieters, I won't complain. :)
  12. Looks like Nathan is the reason the Chiefs haven't been no-hit before.
  13. They think everyone wants to see that crap. I'm shocked that the folks in the Midwest are actually getting the Cubs-Cards.
  14. He doesn't throw as hard as John. But I think he'll have a similar career (some success from time to time) to John, with quite a few chances at the big league level.
  15. The one in the mid-80s was a 12-6 curve and the one in the low 80s was probably his change. Why did Homer only go 4.2 IP? It's good to see Evan back in the lineup and healthy. Gotta root for the local kids. :)
  16. I think it was explained quite well already -- ARod was the superior player at that position. Pretty simple, actually. If you think the hatred for aRod is bad now, imagine if he had taken Jeter's position. If I'm the Yankees or a Yankee fan, I don't care if people hate one of my players. I only care for what makes my team better, and Rodriguez playing SS is that.
  17. I didn't think you'd take 8 million solo HR's literally. I didn't. I also know better than to think that Corey has a higher rate of solo HR's than most.
  18. Hendry was really interested in Gonzalez after the 2002 season. It makes sense.
  19. Nah, Derrek will win it again. Just to prove how meaningless the award really is.
  20. Probable Starters: Iowa: RHP Jae-Kuk Ryu (6-7, 3.69 ERA) West Tenn: LHP JR Mathes (9-7, 3.28 ERA) Daytona: LHP Carlos Perez (4-7, 5.07 ERA) Peoria: RHP Scott Taylor: (7-8, 3.39 ERA) @ RHP Greg Reinhard (5-9, 4.44 ERA) Boise: RHP Jake Renshaw (0-1, 11.25 ERA; 0-2, 6.48 ERA) Ryu: 117 IP, 96/43, 1.28 WHIP Mathes: 134.1 IP, 95/26, 1.22 WHIP Perez: 99.1 IP, 77/52, 1.78 WHIP Taylor: 124.2 IP, 62/21, 1.20 WHIP Renshaw (Boise & Mesa): 25 IP, 18/7, 1.56 WHIP
  21. Yessssssssss. I've already trademarked the title John Koronka II for Ryan.
  22. Rafael Dolis is also under 20 and very, very intriguing. Great strikeout numbers and a nice fastball.
