  1. Lisandro Rosario breaks up the no-no with a 1-out single to CF in the 6th! Mesa down 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th. Greibal Cuevas-Novas is now in to reliever Parker.
  2. You ruined my 11-straight post streak, though. :( Mesa is now down 1-0 after 5, and are being no-hit. Parker: 5 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K.
  3. A lot of this stemmed from yesterday when, in the 4th inning, Padilla (he's sure making a reputation for himself this season) buzzed Vlad and then beaned Rivera after a Vlad homered. Padilla and Showalter were ejected. In the 8th, Vlad was buzzed again, by Littleton and wasn't ejected, which upset the Angels greatly. There was some thought that the Angels might retaliate today when there were no warnings, specifically from Adam Kennedy who said they might do something in today's game. It's been going on longer than that, Eaton got thrown out in the first inning last week in Anaheim for throwing behind Juan Rivera after giving up a 3-run homer. True enough, it's actually gone back to last year. The Angels also had a brawl with the A's earlier this season. Only the Mariners left...
  4. Peoria wins it 9-5 to snap a 7-game losing streak.

  6. Ryan Lilly goes yard in the top of the 8th. Peoria leads it 9-5 in the top of the 9th.
  7. Peoria has come back to take an 8-5 lead in the 8th, thanks to a 2-run 6th inning and a 2-run 7th inning. Rayborn has been impressive in relief with 2 shutout and hitless innings and 5 Ks. Mesa and Scottsdale are scoreless in the 5th. Mesa is being no-hit thus far...
  8. Iowa loses 6-3. Wilton Chavez gets the loss. Felix Foot finishes 2 for 5 with the HR and double. West Tenn wins it 4-1! Daytona wins it 5-4 in 12 innings!
  9. Ryan Harvey crushes a hanging breaking ball for a solo HR! The D-Cubs lead it 5-4, with 1 out in the top of the 12th.
  10. Round Rock jumps ahead 6-3 in the bottom of the 8th and they are still batting. One run is charged to Chavez, two to Mac Suzuki. West Tenn still up 4-1 in the bottom of the 8th. Holdzkom has been great in relief, with 3 shutout and hitless innings and 5 Ks. Sarasota loads the bases with 1 out in the 11th, but Daytona gets out of the jam with 2 straight strikeouts. We go to the 12th, still tied at 4. Peoria is now down 5-4 in the 6th. Joel Santo's final line: 5 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 5 K. Mesa and Scottsdale are scorless after 2.
  11. Because the pitchers are young and for some reason many people can't get to the point to criticize young pitchers, especially if one is named Prior. Most are likely being more critical of an organizational philosophy rather than a player(s). Especially when the player you brought into question has been hit w/numerous injuries, I can see how someone value the potential organizational lapse more than one player. If you blame Prior, then you have to blame Lee. Lee has never admitted to some of the problems being mental. I'm sure Lee has had problems that are mental, unless he's not human. I don't follow.
  12. Why does Dusty hate Murton again? Because he gave Murton some rest when Murton started slumping in June? Because he cut back on Murton's playing time? Maybe the fact that Murton isn't playing everyday is what's helping him. He's certainly been hitting a lot better since he's gotten more rest. Maybe with this being Murton's first full year in the majors, some time off helps him. Nah. Dusty hates the kid. I'm not sayin that I love everything Dusty does, but some of the bashing is just silly. Murton played from April through November last season (playing in the AFL). It'd be very disconcerting (and probably not true) to see Matt tired in June after such a long 2005 season.
  13. Iowa ties it up at 3 thanks to an Augie Ojeda RBI double in the top of the 6th inning. Wade Miller's sixth: On a 1-0 count, Alan Zinter flies out to CF. Wade Miller's final line: 6 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, 90 pitches (58 strikes). ----- West Tenn leads it 4-1 after 6. Daytona and Sarasota are tied at 4 in the top of the 10th. Peoria leads it 4-3 in the 5th. They regained the lead when Ryan Lilly scored in the top of the 5th on a double play. Taylor Parker gets the start for Mesa. They're just under way.
