  1. He's first in the Baseball Almanac, you can't buy that kind of potential, dude. I do insist however that Cotts is nothing special. Not worth two prospects IMO. The Sox couldn't wait to dump him, that's a pretty damning signal. Vasquez really isn't a prospect. More like an afterthought.
  2. Well at least we get a 40 man spot out of it. ....or maybe not. When did Vazquez get taken off the 40? A couple of years ago.
  3. 1/11/1988, making him age 18 now and 19 for next season.
  4. Ahh, we referred to it as o-chem. Fun times.
  5. Correct.
  6. Apparently I must have missed a game somewhere for the Tigres and Leones because their stats on the eluniversal.com website didn't match up with what I had - I updated and now they match up. Caribes lose 7-6, box: CF C. Walker 2/4, R - breaking out of slump? Tigres win 9-5, box: CF B. Coats 0/4, K (12), BB (8) SS R. Cedeño 4/6, 2 R, HR (1), 2 RBI - yay Leones lost 6-2, box: C H. Blanco 0/4, K (10) Overall: Chris Walker (Caribes): 24/98, .245/.348/.316/.664, 3 HBP, 13 BB, 21 K, 1 HR, 16/19 SB Buck Coats (Tigres): 19/84, .226/.301/.357/.658, 1 HBP, 8 BB, 12 K, 3 HR, 1/1 SB, 1 E Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 13/50, .260/.288/.340/.628, 1 HBP, 1 BB, 11 K, 1 HR, 0/2 SB, 1 E Henry Blanco (Leones): 15/79, .190/.247/.316/.563, 1 HBP, 5 BB, 10 K, 2 HR, 1/1 SB
  7. Licey lost 4-3 in 10 innings, box: CF F. Pie 1/4, K (15) Overall: 18/76, .237/.256/.289/.545, 1 HBP, 1 BB, 15 K, 4 2B, 4/4 SB
  8. I still think Angel Guzman is going to develop into something quite dominant. He showed more than enough flashes for me to think that last year. I completely agree.
  9. Culiacan lost 4-1, box: 3B C. McGehee 1/3, BB (15), SB (1), E (7, fielding) Gusave wins 1-0, box: 3B I. Salas 0/3, K (5), CS (1) Overall: Casey McGehee (Culiacan): 33/107, .308/.393/.458/.851, 3 HR, 7 2B, 15 BB, 10 K, 1/2 SB, 7 E Issmael Salas (Gusave): 8/27, .296/.345/.296/.641, 2 BB, 5 K, 0/1 SB
  10. Mesa wins 5-2, box: 2B E. Patterson 3/5, R, K (16), SB (14), picked off 3B S. Moore 0/3, R, BB (15), K (27) Overall: Eric Patterson: 38/110, .345/.405/.464/.869, 11 BB, 16 K, 14/16 SB, 6 E Scott Moore: 26/103, .252/.353/.456/.809, 1 HBP, 15 BB, 27 K, 4/5 SB, 3 E
  11. Very down year in 2005, broke his foot on in the opening game of 2006. His injury affected his play and he ended up having surgery after a bit of playing. Jeez that's awful. Where do you think he'll start next year? AA? Just checked his stats, holy shazbot, 39 homers in A ball?!?! And at age 20 as well.... Yeah, he'll probably return to AA and be teamed up with Ryan Harvey.
  12. UCLA comes from behind to beat BYU 82-69. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute with a career high 24 points and he also had 11 rebounds. Darren Collison also had a double double (16 pts, 10 assists - both career highs) too in his first start replacing Jordan Farmar at the point. :) Off to Maui now...

  14. ???? BABIP ignores K's. That's his point - because they rack up a lot of Ks, they have fewer ABs that they get outs with, so their BABIP will be higher.
  15. He's either being extremely overrated, or our farm is really crappy. While I wouldn't say it's "crappy," it's definitely an indictment on the quality of the farm system.
  16. Wow, Murton has to be #2. Must be an oversight.
  17. Issmael Salas has surfaced with Gusave. So far, in 11 games, here are his stats: 8/24, .333/.429/.333/.762, 4 K/2 BB
  18. It'd be real nice if BYU would stop hitting 3-pointers; 8/9, almost all of them from NBA range. UCLA down 39-36 at the half.
  19. You employed now? Irish Times?
  20. I think eyre would wave that without hesitation, as Baker is gone who he had a great relationship with, along with getting off a team that was the worst in the NL to go a decent AL team. The Cubs would have to pick up a chunk of the salary of Eyre/Howry. The Indians can't afford relievers that cost that much - that's the reason Howry left them last offseason.
  21. No kidding, that was strange. But at least AAardvaark is awesome. Not really that strange...he lost velocity on his FB, his slider lost some bite and his control disappeared.
  22. I would rate someone like Ryu ahead of Harvey myself. Correct about those players not being eligible. Cedeño, Guzman, Marmol, Marshall, Mateo (service time - so he would qualify in Baseball America's rankings) and Theriot completed their rookie eligibility last season.
  23. Oof, Oral Roberts now up 62-51 on KU.
