  1. So where does Samardzija go on your rankings now that he's baseball full-time? I'd say top 3.
  2. #1 (not counting Guzman). Higher ceiling than Veal. Peoria. Levine might say 2008, but I don't see it happening (unless it's a September call-up).
  3. He should start in Peoria. I'd say he'd hit the bigs sometime in 2009.
  4. UCLA beat Arizona State 60-50 yesterday. USC beat Arizona at USC and Oregon beat Stanford in Eugene. Up next for the Bruins is Arizona vs. UCLA at Pauley on Saturday.
  5. A late or early first round talent? I don't follow the minors or college all that closely. Is he a sure fire type guy, or just a guy who projects to be pretty good in a few years? Projects. He's a bit rawer than most college prospects because of all the time he lost to football. He picked up throwing a changeup really quickly in Boise and the coaches were really impressed. His breaking ball also improved. I believe I read somewhere (BA) that he was rated around 20th pick overall in terms of talent but it's been about 8 months since I read that so I could be wrong.
  6. If I get a cookie too. I called 1 post before you. I like oatmeal and Raisin, Raisin. Ask Jon, I called it last night on instant messenger while watching the UCLA bball game.
  7. Do I get a cookie for calling it? And for the person who asked, Samardzija is most certainly a first round baseball talent.
  8. And here I thought the Bears had already forfeited because they had no chance against the red hot Saints. I guess we should just crown the Cardinals since both teams forfeited.
  9. Jim Callis and Baseball America. Check out the minor league thread about him in Minors.
  10. He was routinely clocked at 96 and topped out at 99 at ND this past spring. He was mid-90s topping out at 96 at Boise.
  11. The blues are awful.
  12. Tigres win 4-2, box: SS R. Cedeño 0/3, 2 K (11) Navegantes won 15-1, box: 1B T. Pérez 0/3, K (6) Overall (Playoffs): Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 15/51, .294/.339/.686/1.025, 5 BB, 11 K, 4 HR, 2 3B, 4 2B, 1/1 SB, 0 E Tomás Pérez (Navegantes): 12/49, .245/.304/.306/.610, 5 BB, 6 K, 3 2B, 0/1 SB, 1 E
  13. http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/allergies/wxdetail/60605?dayNum=2&from=weekend Weatherchannel has 0% chance of snow for Sunday during the day. Weather.com isn't the best indicator for anything more than 2 days. I'd trust NWS:
  14. College football is over early enough that it's possible he just didn't play in a whole heckuva lot of cold weather. True enough, good point.
  15. 42 is "pretty chilly" and he went to Purdue? I'd understand if that was Reggie Bush saying that, but come on...
  16. 60% chance according to NWS (most of the accumulation before noon). Expected high of 29°F.
  17. And Colbert is on the O'Reilly Factor tonight too.
  18. Epatt was on the other caravan group, I was so mad he wasn't on this one. Yeah, in Peoria.
  19. In that case, they need to have a Cubs caravan over in Pasadena with guys like Veal and EPatt.
  20. I could've sworn he fumbled earlier in the year. It was around the time he was complaining about not getting any playing time. Nope, no fumbles this season. Griese got credit for the fumble against Buffalo, but it was mostly on Benson, imo.
  21. I know we've gone over this before, but he should have been credited with a fumble in the Buffalo game, and there are a couple of other times he dropped the ball almost instantly after his knee touched down, most recently in OT last week. Last week in OT, his elbow touched the ground, knocking the ball out. I think quite a few players would fumble the ball in that situation.
