  8. He didn't. The Cubs had asked him to cut short his season so he wouldn't be tired come spring training. Or maybe the Cubs just wanted to give him a face-saving excuse to walk away and quit embarrassing himself. Probably a smart thing for the org. to do. The Cubs said that in October, so that means they can see into the future.

  10. 13 RBI's, besides Boggs hit near the top of the lineup. Boggs had 716 more runs. That wasn't a really fair comparison. but, but...but Boggs had 3000 more AB's! We can play this game all day long but it won't get us anywhere. Dawson is a HOF'er just as much as Boggs or Ozzie Smith. Smith, yeah. But Boggs certainly belongs in the Hall and Dawson doesn't. And Dawson was my favorite Cub growing up.
  11. Culiacan won 4-1, box: 3B C. McGehee 1/4 Overall: Casey McGehee (Culiacan): 73/242, .302/.368/.426/.794, 7 HR, 9 2B, 27 BB, 32 K, 1/3 SB, 11 E

  14. Boo, USC wins.
  15. It's pretty apparent these refs are rooting for USC - Washington guy steals the ball and gets his jersey pulled - and gets called for the foul.
  16. True freshman 7-foot star Spencer Hawes hits a huge 3-pointer to send the USC-U-Dub game to double overtime!
  17. UCLA escaped with a 3-pt win over WSU, huge effort by Collison, Mbah a Moute and Afflalo in the second half comeback. Washington and USC tied in overtime. Three U-Dub starters have fouled out.
  18. Yay Cal!
  19. UCLA down 28-24 to WSU at halftime, looking sloppy and the refs are making some questionable calls both ways. How bad are the refs? Howland was actually mad at them and not at his players at one point. I've never seen Ben yell at a ref before.
  20. Meh, put him in LF and call it a day.
  21. 04/03 - 10/01 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Cedeno 534 51 131 18 7 6 181 41 17 109 0.245 0.271 0.339 0.610 Perez 236 27 60 13 1 2 81 24 5 21 0.254 0.266 0.343 0.610 I think they were equally bad, no? Not that it makes much of a difference, but based on that, I think Neifi's OPS is .609.
  22. I would. Zito will play his home games at AT & T Park, Lilly at Wrigley. Zito will be in the NL West with its share of pitcher's parks, Lilly in the NL Central. Petco is the only true pitcher's park in that division. LA has been well below average, but that's a reflection of the crappy offensive teams they've assembled lately. Dodger Stadium was top 10 last year, and Juan Pierre aside, it should stay that way with the influx of good young offensive talent. AT&T is about average, but Coors and Chase are still 2 of the premier hitter's parks in the game. Is Coors still a premier hitter's park with the humidor (I haven't looked at the numbers)? Interestingly enough, yup. Thanks.
