  1. Ugh, Luc picks up his third foul.
  2. We did that last year too (San Diego, Oakland). It helps that it's a really big state. true. LA to Sacramento is, what, an 8 hour drive? Still, you know there are Bruin Alum all over the state, so these are clearly home games for UCLA Yeah - the Bay Area has the second largest population of Bruin alums and Sacramento has a sizable chunk (and is less than 2 hours from the Bay).

  4. OMG. Mata made 2 of 2 FTs! :D
  5. ESPN blows. I don't know how we can still be considered a mid-major after 6 straight tournament appearances, 2 Sweet 16 appearances, close to a 3rd Sweet 16 apperance a few years ago, and close to an Elite 8 apperance tonight. We've landed the two best recruiting class that we've ever seen for the next two years and if we can keep Lowery, I have all the faith in the world that Sweet 16 apperances should be the norm. I know I'm biased, but we've passed Gonzaga as the best non-BCS school. Memphis? ETA: Your point still stands, SIU can't be considered a scrappy mid-major, especially if Lowery stays.
  6. I don't see the Cubs trading Izturis unless they are blown away. Hendry and Piniella obviously like him a lot.
  7. Why is he in in that situation? Poor coaching.
  8. I can't remember the last time I watched a college basketball game and thought "gee those refs did a swell job!" 8-) I'll always insist Bob Knight hit it dead on with the "relax and enjoy it" remark. Not much you can do, the refs are just bad a lot of times. I have a few times, but you make a good point - the reffing does seem to be poor overall. These refs for all four games have been pretty bad tonight. Have they been bad in the Pitt-UCLA game? I'm not complaining but obviously I wouldn't complain if Pitt wasn't getting a fair shake.
  9. Lofton was all but ready to transfer before Bruce came in. Once he saw what Bruce was about, he and JaJuan Smith decided to stay. Bruce is a terrific coach and motivator, no doubt about it. From what I understand, UK and the Ville didn't even recruit the kid? Correct.
  10. UCLA up 32-26 at the half, not bad seeing as Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Lorenzo Mata and Alfred Aboya were in foul trouble (and Luc only played 2 or so minutes before having to sit).
  11. Crap, now Aboya with 2 fouls too. Our three best big men have 2 fouls. Aboya draws the charge! :D
  12. Tennessee is on pace for about 120 points.
  13. Ben Howland is gambling with playing Mata despite 2 fouls. :?
  14. Hey Dick Enberg: Ryan Wright is #11, he's the one with the headband. Alfred Aboya is #12. He doesn't have a headband.
  15. ^&^*(^&(*&(&( Everyone big in foul trouble for UCLA. Mata - 2, Mbah a Moute - 2, Aboya - 1.
  16. That wasn't Aboya. That was Ryan Wright who got the foul. ETA: They finally got it right.
  17. Ugh, Ryan Wright getting meaningful playing time = Aaron Gray owning us.
  18. Man, our big guys are drawing fouls at a bad pace. :?
  19. one second isn't going to make a bit of difference. It makes a huge difference right there-if he had one more second he could have sidestepped that defender and then dribbled up to the 3 point line-with the time he had, all he time to do was sidestep the defender, so he just decided to launch the shot while straight on rather than moving to his right. Whatever Great argument. One second makes a huge difference in that situation. Yes. Maybe one more dribble and 3 more feet. Increases the shot percentage by a lot I'm sure. Are you drunk right now? The difference between 3.1 and 2.0 in that situation is huge. I realize you made a claim and now you want to stick to it, but give us a break. Sober as a judge. How about you?The difference wasn't 3.1 and 2.0. It was whatever it was when the ball touched the floor and the Memphis player touched it and it went out of bounds. So 2.7 or whatever and 2.0. Maybe one diribble and three more feet. One dribble for a D1 player covers about 5 feet at least. Think about how big they are. Tyus Edney, anyone? 4.8 seconds cross-court.

Maybe one diribble and three more feet. We were talking 3.1 and 2.0 - even 2.7 and the TAMU player can think about getting closer to the 3-pt line and having a better look at the basket. These are 21-year old NCAA basketball athletes.
  21. ^%(*&^(& Luc with 2 fouls.
  22. GO BRUINS!

Whatever ?? Whether or not the call was right, 1.1 seconds from around midcourt is a HUGE difference.
  24. one second isn't going to make a bit of difference. Between 2 and 3.1? Yes, it would.
  25. A&M should have got one board. C'mon, I asked you to drop it.
