  1. Oh, sure, NOW Shocked not shocked the guy will multiple TJS is hurt during a breakout season.
  2. Yeah, Burks wouldn't make my top ten either. He'd be in the 11-20 though. It's early, but for right now, my top 10 probably sits at: 1. Jimenez 2. Happ 3. Candelario 4. Cease 5. De La Cruz 6. Clifton 7. Caratini 8. Zagunis 9. Amaya 10. Albertos To be fair, Cubsclapp said "around top of 10." I went through a rough top 15 and landed on Burks at 12.

  4. That might have been the alcohol, guys.
  5. The last two years, the Cubs won 200 regular season games and only 2 of those were in LA (and they needed special performances both times: Arrieta's no-hitter and the game Bryant hit 2 HRs and Heyward [!] got an XBH off Kenley to force extra innings). Series in LA always suck. Hopefully that's all this was too.
  6. Provided this keeps up a bit longer, he's probably around the Cubs' top-10 now right? Definitely.
  7. Yeah, Happ has so much MLB experience. (Lest we forget, Happ is 2 for his last 20 with 11 strikeouts, currently has an overall 36% K rate in the big leagues and had contact problems in the minors.)
  8. Do you remember when you started changing names after Aramis left, you were doing it to get Cubs players you didn't like traded or DFA'd, like Shawn Camp? For whatever reason, you then decided you wanted them to get rid of Rondon, even though he was a struggling but talented, young Rule 5 reliever on a shitty team.
  9. Maddening that Lester had the first two guys struck out. Got to love that human element.
  10. This ump's strike zone sure changed after calling strike 1 to Bryant.

  14. That is the Mount Rushmore of awful 90's bands. Needs more Limp Bizkit. And Candlebox. Limp Bizkit and other nü metal bands belong in their own Mt. Rushmore. Russ Hanneman's Mt. Rushmore, if you will.
  15. If we're blaming the coaches for the young hitters slumping, do they not get credit for fixing Rizzo back in the day and Heyward this year?
  16. He'd also been popular due to tools scouting reports upside ceiling, not even so long ago. I'd say he became outright unpopular maybe a year now, give or take a couple months on either side. You know NSBB, all about the tools and never stats.
  17. Why wouldn't anyone believe you? He was the number 1 overall international free agent. And unless that employee was a hot dog vendor, most Cubs employees were thinking the same thing. Now if you told them, like you wrote here last year, that Kellogg would be better than Clifton, that would be a bold, unbelievable prediction. Remember when it was a thing that I was saying Clifton > Underwood? As the Cubs are sharp I would imagine actually being called the next big thing in a second/third pro season requires a little more than being the top 7/2 16 YO international FA from that one time. As grand and storied a title that is, probably something else needs to have happened two years later. Plus the Cubs had some SS, from that same 7/2 group, getting all the attention in full season ball that year. Underwood's been pretty unpopular on this board for some time due to his low K rates and injuries.
  18. I wonder if Schwarber realizes everyone pitches him up and he can't handle that.
