  1. Oh yeah, that Zobrist double in Game 7. That’s the horsefeathers.
  2. That 7th inning stretch should any and all good will towards Vasergian that some of this board inexplicably has.

  4. So inexplicable to pull Q with 80-something pitches yesterday. Who could’ve had the foreseen Chatwood might go short the next day and a bullpen game the day after?
  5. So Sandoval gets an infield single and makes a diving stop?
  6. Just do the IBB to Belt and get the inevitable over with.
  7. Mike Vasil withdraws from the draft to honor his commitment to Virginia.
  8. Apparently Darvish left a game last season with triceps soreness and didn't miss a start.
  9. Cool. Are you getting that info from somewhere other than the currently listed pitcher for that game on milb's scoreboard? https://cubscentral.wordpress.com/2018/05/27/the-weekly-pitching-dominates-the-week-and-some-draft-tidbits/amp/?__twitter_impression=true I believe he got it from the radio broadcast.
  10. He’s topped out at 98 in the past and this was only a 2 inning stint so I didn’t think it was that noteworthy. Yeah, Arguello said something about that in the past. But it never showed up in games last year. So, for me, having a more recent report saying the same thing while working on his mechanics is of note. Let's take it to copy editor's desk and let her decide... All joking aside, if Moreno can maintain that velocity for strikes (yet to be seen) over two innings and has a hard slider, he becomes an interesting relief prospect to go along with Maples, Clark, Mekkes, Brooks, etc. Keith Law had Moreno 94-97 when Law ranked Moreno 14th in the Cubs system over the offseason.
  11. I fixed your post. I’m guessing draft pick trades are going to be on the table for the next CBA negotiation unless it’s a nasty fight and they don’t have time for that type of stuff. It felt like introducing trading competitive balance picks was the first step.
  12. Padres acquire the 74th pick from the Twins to take on Phil Hughes and some of his salary.
  13. https://www.thecubreporter.com/05262018/ryan-williams-and-erling-moreno-throw-game-riverview Moreno was consistently at 96-98? You buried the lede, Raisin... He’s topped out at 98 in the past and this was only a 2 inning stint so I didn’t think it was that noteworthy.
  14. No no no, Ronald Acuña might have just broken his ankle. Well, he’s walking off on his own power now. Watch the replay at your own peril.
  15. Ryan Williams is back, but down to 81-83 mph. Erling Moreno is back too: https://www.thecubreporter.com/05262018/ryan-williams-and-erling-moreno-throw-game-riverview
  16. Matt Swarmer is expected to make his next start on Wednesday.

  18. There is no reason to ever NOT backdate a DL stint, so that really isn't encouraging in the slightest. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk The Dodgers didn't backdate Kershaw's injury this year.

  20. accept the fact that they're better and it will become easier actually that doesn't make it easier at all. why the horsefeathers is cubs baseball so sad these days God are we going to horsefeathering do this horsefeathers on here 2 years in a row? It’s like I’ve gone back in time to July 2017. It’s horsefeathering May still, slow your damn roll. Maybe it will turn out different but this team has played like a 90 win team in the first halves under Joe and 109 win team in second halves. This happens every horsefeathering year except 2016 and yet many can’t just chill out and enjoy the greatest run of Cubs baseball in pretty much forever. 3 out of the last 4 years.* The Cubs were out of a playoff spot until the 4-game series against the Giants in 2015. ETA: I hate when I think I'm responding to the last post in a thread and then realize there's been a full page after the post I responded to.
  21. Non-reviewable, they said. Fwiw, I'm guessing it would've been one of those that stayed the same as the original call regardless. How dumb.
  22. I was out during the foul double. Why wasn’t it reviewed and overturned?
