  1. They buzzed Javy twice up in the head on Friday too and then this. All after Arrenado got his knickers twisted when he was hit after like 3 straight Padres were hit. What a shitty organization.
  2. 1-out BB and the another HR to the same guy who hit the HR off Little in the 2nd. 4 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 2 HR, 6-0 GO-FO, 66-40 pitches-strikes
  3. Little with a 9-pitch 1-2-3 3rd inning. 3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 4-0 GO-FO, 45-29 pitches-strikes Easily his best pro outing. His ERA is below 9.00!
  4. Brendon Little retired the first 5 hitters today before giving up a run and 3 straight hits (solo HR, a "soft" single, an IF single and then a K to get out of the inning). 2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, 36-25 pitches-strikes. He only needed 8 pitches in the 1-2-3 first. Duncan Robinson has gotten lit up to the tune of 7 ER in 1+ IP.
  5. Yesterday in Arizona: https://www.thecubreporter.com/04222018/sac-fly-earns-giants-black-tie-indian-school-park 1. Fernando Kelli, DH #1: 1-3 (2B, HBP, 4-3, 3-1, 2 R) 2. Didier Vargas: 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 0/1 GO/AO, 17 pitches (14 strikes) 2. Riger Fernandez: 2.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R (1 ER), 1 BB, 1 K, 1 HR, 1 WP, 1/2 GO/AO, 39 pitches (20 strikes)
  6. Was he the Schwarber or Bryant draft? I remember reading a lot about him and hearing/thinking he was definitely in play for us until he had that injury. Bryant draft. Jonathan Gray essentially replaced him as the other top SP option with Mark Appel.

  8. David Bote was drafted in the 18th round in 2012, making him the lowest drafted player by this Cubs regime to make it to the big leagues. The previous lowest was 2013 10th rounder Zack Godley (and if you're limiting it to just guys who made it with the Cubs, the lowest drafted big leaguer is 2014 3rd rounder Mark Zagunis).
  9. Rich Hill, Jeff Samardzija and Andrew Cashner all had nice runs at Iowa since Prior (admittedly Samardzija and Cashner didn’t last long at AAA before being called up).
  10. Have to think it’ll be Bote or Zagunis getting the call

  13. 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K on 45 pitches thus far for Adbert. EDIT: 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K, 63-41 pitches-strikes
  14. Honestly probably just comes down to Farrell being the most rested.
  15. To be fair to toonster, he said pop and defense. Short is clearly further up the defensive spectrum since he can play an adequate SS. I’d definitely disagree if toonster prefers Short’s power to Bote’s (or Vosler’s even).
