  1. 3 GIDPs and 8 LOBs for West Tenn.
  2. Casey McGehee hit in the back of the helmet, but he seems ok and took first. This is the second HBP for the Jaxx - Luis Montanez was hit on his wrist in the first (but he too was ok and walked to first immediately).
  3. Line out to Montanez, runner at third tags and scores. And a popup ends the inning. I might be wrong about the BBs, but I think Marmol is at: 3 IP, 6 ER, 7 H, 3/1. 6-0 Montgomery in the middle of the third.
  4. Marmol is STRUGGLING. Bases loaded, one out, one in in the third. Victor Ramos warming up in the pen.
  5. They've stranded 4 through 2. :( But the opposing pitcher is having all sorts of control problems - I think he has given up 4 BBs and 1 HBP through 2.
  6. Brandon Sing strikes out in his first attempt of the day to break the Jaxx HR record. :(
  7. GEEZ. Marmol gives up his THIRD homer of the game (a monster shot from Gabriel Martinez) and it's now 4-0 Mobile with one out in the second. Well, Marmol settles down with a flyout, K and groundout. 4-0 in the middle of the second, WT down.
  8. The Jaxx are already down 3-0 in the bottom of the first innning.
  9. Well, he hasn't done much since coming to eh Cubs but he has too much previous success to expect that his poor performance will continue indefinitely, so, no, I'm not fed up with him. Although he does have a history of struggling in the second half. :|
  10. Bunt, would've been out at first, but the throw sailed well wide of first and went way down the first base line. Tie game. Thanks. Let's go, Prior.
  11. How did Corey get all the way to third on a throwing error?
  12. He's injured, his last start was on 8/2. Donald Veal has replaced him in the rotation ever since. No clue what the injury is. No, he pitched on 8/14. He just didn't do that well. Interesting. I stumbled on something from cubs.com about that start, but couldn't match up the dates. That means there's a good chance Darin will start today. Unfortunately, it looks like you're right about Avery going tonight. He started on the 13th, so possibly Downs tomorrow. Yeah, Downs should go tomorrow (didn't count their off day yesterday). I guess that means Michael Hyle was bumped from the rotation (despite not doing too bad as a starter).
  13. He's injured, his last start was on 8/2. Donald Veal has replaced him in the rotation ever since. No clue what the injury is. No, he pitched on 8/14. He just didn't do that well. Thanks. I stumbled on something from cubs.com about that start, but couldn't match up the dates with the box scores in the forum, so I just assumed Carrie Muskat had made a mistake. This means there's a good chance Darin will start today.
  14. You needed proof to validate your assumption? Common sense would've saved you time. :) every once in a while i like to throw some facts in there to back up my wild accusations...just for something different. :D I'm waiting for you to toss in a capital letter or two "just for something different." :P
  15. Shhh, making fun of Raisin is much better. He's right, you know, Derwood. Are you sure? I swear that everyone saw it but the umpires and that Kim or the catcher or someone grabbed it up before he got booted. I wouldn't know where to go and look for a box score that far back... From what I remember, it was trash (like a hot dog wrapper) that was just flying around but really didn't come out of Kim's sleeve. I definitely remember Kim getting ejected for this. And ignore Jon and CPatt20 (Jon's just jealous of my memory which can remember in-game incidents from 1999 :)). And Enrique Principle is gold.
  16. It'd help if he didn't bite on those low-and-away sliders (it sounds like that pitch is what is giving him the most difficulty). Laying off on those pitches shouldn't hurt his power numbers.
  17. He's injured, his last start was on 8/2. Donald Veal has replaced him in the rotation ever since. No clue what the injury is.
  18. I don't know if this was your doing or someone else with the Chiefs front office, but I'd like to thank whomever lists the pitching probables for the week ahead on the web site. It makes things so much easier as I look for Peoria's pitching opponents for our game threads!
  19. Anyone else remember Kim's rookie year when Mark Grace got him ejected for that flying trash that Grace claimed came out of Kim's sleeve?
  20. To change the subject from attractive ladies who are dating Tony Parker, BA says that UNC's LHP Andrew Miller has been dominating in the Cape Cod League this summer and has made himself the early favorite for the top pick overall. He still has control problems, though. RHP Daniel Bard, also a Tar Heel, is the second best prospect in the Cape Cod League and Mr. Longoria comes in at third.
  21. Thanks, I'll get that box posted.
  22. Mesa's box is up. Rough start for Pawelek, but looks like yesterday was a good night for those who own Olin Wick baseball cards.
