  1. Exactly. That's an awful attitude to coaching.
  2. It works for David Wells...
  3. BA recently ranked the Cubs most recent 4 or 5 drafts as the best in all of baseball.
  4. Which is why the Cubs farm system is routinely ranked in the top 10 in all of baseball.

  6. All boxes (except Mesa) up. Nice to see Peoria and Daytona both have a chance at the postseason still. And congrats to Brandon Sing.
  7. Mesa's box score is finally up.

  9. Well, Corey isn't exactly the tallest guy, so that could be it. It didn't seem longer than normal yesterday, though. It could also be where he's positioning his arms now.
  10. To answer your question, because he's not on the 40 man roster. and yet pitchers who have stunk in AAA like Rohlicek and Bartosh and Leicester ARE on the 40 man. Yet Van Buren who, a lot of Cub "Minor League enthusiasts" say doesn't have Major League stuff, has for 2 seasons now, has had nothing but success, Isn't on the 40 man. But then again, for the most part, this is coming from the same group that thought Hee Seop and Bobby Hill, David Kelton and even Kevin Orie (almost forgot Mitre), were going to be perennial All Stars. Bartosh isn't on the 40-man. Van Buren has had minor league success. On the other hand, Leicester had major league success last season. How do you know this for a fact? My bad on Bartosh. Forgot that he was on it this year but was sooo bad, that noone picked him up. As far as Leicester goes, yeah he had success, for half a season, before opposing teams figured out he had 1 pitch and before his arm died and went to heaven. I don't understand your point though. So this is supposed to mean that Van Buren won't be any good, cuz he's not on the 40 man and cuz he hasn't been given a chance at ML level? Leicester is basicly done, unless he needs surgery and needs his arm cleaned out. He cant even get AAA players out and is on 40 man and yet Van Buren who has done nothing but get AAA players out, isn't. with all the rule 5 elgible guys, VB might not be added to the 40 man this year, but he should've been on it this year over guys like Rohlicek and given a chance over guys like Wellemeyer who is a giant dope and will NEVER get his head straight and be worth a sack of nuts. What I am saying is I won't complain about Leicester being on the 40-man since he made contributions to the big league team last year. I don't see the point in being upset at Leicester being on the 40-man despite his down season (and he has been improving of late). Complaining about Rohlicek, Koronka, etc? Sure. (Though I'd have preferred Sisco being placed on the 40-man over JVB if Rohlicek wasn't going to be on there.) And I'm through arguing with you if all you can use is hyperbole and points like, "Wellemeyer is a giant dope and will NEVER get his head straight and be worth a sack of nuts."
  11. Because there are players the Cubs should protect ahead of JVB. Felix Pie, Brandon Sing, Sean Marshall, Carlos Marmol and Ricky Nolasco are all in need of protection this offseason, and all should be protected over JVB. And just from that list, Brandon Sing and Carlos Marmol have been more consistent than JVB the past two seasons.

  13. Dempster would take some time to get stretched out after relieving the past few months. Plus he'll be mighty pissed at starting again. Personally, I think Kerry should be shut down.
  14. I'd prefer seeing Kerry Wood start.

  17. Mesa box score still not up. I'll post it when it comes up.
  18. Hahaha. Reyes ahead of Pie. Hahaha. Reds ahead of Cubs.
  19. Thanks for the answers! Has Ryan Harvey improved in terms of breaking balls from the start of the season?
  20. Do you still pay attention to former Peoria pitchers like Lee Gwaltney, Chris Shaver and Victor Ramos now that they have moved on to Daytona or West Tennessee? Could you also give a scouting report for these three pitchers - how hard they throw and what types of pitches they throw? Thanks, Nathan!
  21. Thanks Serena. Thanks Ron for the shoutout! :D
