    The game is on AM 710 or 830 for those of you in LA, the OC, San Diego and the IE. I won't be around the computer to give updates, hopefully for all of you, one of our other SoCal posters will be. According to the LA Times, it's a split squad game.

    Why do you act like he's happy to be just sitting on his ass, not pitching, competing, and picking up a paycheck? Honestly CubbieRich, you have it out for him on a personal level. Did he still a girl from you in a previous life or something? I know he's being paid, and not performing to that paycheck, but it seems your dislike and hatred for him go above and beyond just a player who is oft-hurt. Badger, my friend..looks like you're coming over to my side. I expect the highest paid pitcher of the Cubs to lead the team by his performance, very hard to do from the perpetual DL. After years of denying he has bad mechanics, he now admits that he has changed them this winter. Steve Stone is right again. Thank goodness this $12 million DL veteran will be somewhere else next year. Are you moved yet? Have you found Mickey's Diner in St. Paul near the State Capitol? Hope everything is going well.     He's denying those reports now. LINK. Yeah, Mike Scioscia and GM Bill Stoneman confirmed that he won't be playing on FSN's Southern California Sports Report tonight.

    Cal beats USC by 15 to advance to the semifinals. Leon Powe had 22 points and 20 boards. Oregon pulls off the upset, 84-73. Chamberlain Uguchi had all 22 of his points in the second half, including 6 three pointers. They were down by 14 with about 10 minutes left and they went the last 30 minutes of the game without their idiot PG who got ejected! Tomorrow: (4) Arizona vs. (1) UCLA (7) Oregon vs. (3) Cal Arizona will be without Hasaan Adams (drunk driving) and Oregon will be without PG Aaron Brooks (suspended for tomorrow's game for his intentional elbow/ejection in today's game).

    You know the Cubs wouldn't get them. :( Not legally anyways, but since it's Cuba who cares about the laws? This is why we're forming a covert strike team to go down there and take the players that we want. Our elite strike team will be making regular trips to communist countries to extract their best talent and import it to the US under the radar. I think Rocket meant that even if he defects, he'd be a Yankee or Red Sox player. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some attempted defections, especially if Cuba advances in the WBC Uhh, I'm not Rocket.

    79-47 the final. UCLA vs. Arizona tomorrow. Up next, Cal vs. USC. Cal better win to ensure they go dancing. After that, Washington vs. Oregon.

    X-rays negative for Cedric Bozeman, they're saying it's a sprained ankle but he has a boot on. Hopefully Cedric will be ready for the NCAA tournament. A shade under 8 minutes left, UCLA is now up 63-35. EDIT: And Lorenzo Mata - who started at C for half the year until he broke his leg in January - makes his first apperance since the injury!!

    UCLA up 38-27 at the half. They had fouls to give to end the half, but let Oregon State take a half court 3-point shot at the buzzer and drill it. :x Cedric Bozeman has a hurt ankle, getting x-rays taken. This is a huge injury if he's out for anytime.

    The key word in that statement is the Angels said NO. Miggy could be the final peice of the Cubs puzzle. I say you gotta give it a shot. Of course he could be the final piece to teh Angels puzzle too and they said no.

    Yes, many UCLA folk I know are pretty pissed about the basketball coverage - they're worried over the lack of coverage a big name recruit outside of California will see. UCLA up 20-8 with 8:50 left in the first.

    Arizona beats Stanford 73-68 to advance to the semifinals. They'll play the winner of UCLA/Oregon State. If the Wildcats were on the bubble, that's gotta get them in the tourney.

    I'm pretty sure they were all scored off Williams. I'm guessing not the the 2 in the 3rd inning. EDIT: I guess I was wrong. :(
