  1. Agreed. Yeah, it's Embree. Bellhorn with an error. :(
  2. Ok that's not helping the rest of us buddy  18-year old Dylan Johnston - a 4th round pick from last June who has only played at Rookie ball - just hit a bomb off Hoffman.
  3. Dylan Johnston hit a HR off Trevor Hoffman.
  4. Found an interesting Dayton Moore audio piece and am listening to that instead.
  5. Good. I have UCLA in the Final Four Not sure how that's good, Jordan is UCLA's second best player and starting point guard. There are major questions in regards to his shooting ability right now with the injured wrists. Morrison should be ok by tomorrow evening or close enough that it's not that big a cocnern.
  6. Iowa: Nic Jackson is back and healthy. Daytona: Sean Gallagher, Luke Haggerty, Darrin Downs, Mike Billek, Mark Holliman were the notable pitchers. Peoria: Mark Pawelek, Donald Veal, Jesus Yepez, Scott Taylor, Mark Reed, Ryan Norwood. Rookie/Boise(?): The only names I recognized were Mercedes and Albuquerque. Saw Pawelek and Taylor pitching on Sunday in the rain. It was tough to tell since I was immediately behind Mark, but it does look like he cleaned up his windup compared to what I saw on video last year in Boise. His FB looked good, had more zip on it than Taylor's (obviously). His offspeed pitches had nice bite on them, but he didn't have that great control with them. Yusef Carter: http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i40/nsbbnavin/carter.jpg Fleita: http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i40/nsbbnavin/Oneri.jpg (L to R) Jesus Yepez, Scott Taylor, #45 (forgot his name  ), Mark Pawelek: http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i40/nsbbnavin/yeptaypaw.jpg Pawelek: http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i40/nsbbnavin/pawelek1.jpg Pawelek: http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i40/nsbbnavin/pawelek2.jpg Pawelek at the end of his pitching session: http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i40/nsbbnavin/pawelek3.jpg The rain on Sunday was really disappointing. I thought I had better pics - especially of Sean Gallagher, Nic Jackson, Eric Patterson and Luke Haggerty, but alas, they look even worse and smaller. :( Talked to Ryan Harvey's dad for a few seconds - he said the Cubs were having him work on his pitch selection (yay) but before I could ask how, a coach came by and he went to talk to him. This fan next to me in the stands at Fitch was looking for some autographs of minor leaguers. He saw this blonde, about age 20, and decided to go hit on her. It was rather obvious he was a player's girlfriend. He started flirting with her and Ryan Harvey comes right then and there; the fan realizes he was hitting on Ryan's girlfriend and freaks out. Ryan looks perplexed for a second, then notices the fan's card collection with Harvey's card on top and asks him if he wants it signed. The fan says yes and looked relieved.
  7. Yes, that's right. And Maddux just served up a 3-run shot to Mike Piazza. 3-2 Fathers.
  8. A leadoff single, a steal and a single by the #2 hitter?? Have we done that in this century? Followed by an RBI-single by Aramis. Aramis has a hit in 7 consecutive games. Jacque Jones flies out to deep right center field, Todd Walker tags and scores. Mabry grounds into a 4-6-3 DP. 2-0 Cubs in the middle of the first.
  9. Juan Pierre with a leadoff bloop single over Khalil Greene's head.
  10. Adam Morrison has the flu, Jordan Farmar hurt his wrists in the Alabama game. Both will play though. Go Bruins!!
  11. I've been listening for about a half hour, but it'd be nice to hear some DJaxx talk. I hope I didn't miss all of it already. :(
  12. Yep, potshots at the other team. That's what we're all about here at NSBB. And racist remarks? What are you talking about? I'm not talking about anything specific. I'm just saying......... it's hard to deal with Cub fans here, because of the personal shots that they take. What racist or homophobic comments were made? If none were made, it'd be nice of you to not broadly accuse others here.
  13. That's exactly what Mike Marshall was saying on the Score Saturday morning. Throw all year, and get the muscles involved able to withstand overuse. It also seemed like he was against weight training for pitchers, but I came in on the middle of that conversation. Prior probably didn't throw much because he spent a lot of December in a San Diego hospital.
  14. That's the Mighty 1090 AM for those of us in So Cal who can't get San Diego's channel 4 (LA, Orange County and the Inland Empire). Good thing, because I should be in my car for part of the game. P.S. I used to (I think illegaly, but I'm not positive - the channel isn't supposed to air outside of San Diego County) get San Diego's Channel 4 at my apartment in Westwood when I went to UCLA.
  15. I didn't get a chance to see the intersquad game on Friday because I had to go to Scottsdale to see the Cubs-Giants game. On Sunday, most everything, including the intersquad games, was rained out (that was my planned day to see the minor leaguers play :(). I'll have a little blurb up and some average-at-best pics a little later.
  16. I saw him and talked to him last weekend. He said he was completely healthy and looked it while swinging the bat and shagging flyballs. Nic thought he was going to be headed to Iowa to start the season (and was practicing with the AAA guys). By the way, Nic's really funny and just seems like a great guy to hang out with.
  17. Before last season, he's been hurt off and on the previous 3 seasons. He still needs to improve the power.
  18. I'd rather have Kyle and see if he can progress while being a third stringer.
  19. No, no, you're not quite right...it's only crappy lefties and rookies that own us Don't worry, Ponson ate one of each this spring. The link to the story is here here. From reading scouting reports, I thought he already had been working on that sinking two-seamer last year? EDIT (from BA):
  20. Gotta hand it to you, raw. You handled that pretty calmly.
  21. Yeah. :( All the same, good season for the women of Westwood.
  22. [ url=http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=260321116 ]Boxscore[/url] Except without that space between the [ and url.
  23. Do I get a cookie for saying (last summer) that I like Marshall more and thought he was ahead of Hill?
