  1. Sophomore Josh Shipp, UCLA's third best player won't play again this season because of problems related to his hip surgery over the summer (he only play 4 games because of that surgery). UCLA's already without all three of their seniors - Cs Ryan Hollins and Michael Fey and swingman Cedric Bozeman. Sounds like Arron Afflalo, who hurt his hip on in ASU should be ok to play on Thursday against Wazzu and Jordan Farmar will have to play the rest of the season with a sprained ankle. Losing Bozeman and Shipp for the season is really going to hurt. :( EDIT: Ooo, looks like C Lorenzo Mata broke his nose in ASU too.
  2. WOOT! Great effort to get a huge road win. I just don't understand Mizzou. How can a team look so bad and then go into norman and win? I didn't get to see their 3 cupcake games between Illinois and the conference opener, but they've turned it around for sure. They've played pretty good defense before and maintained that, better offensive flow, better effort, and someone in each game stepping up to help Gardner shoulder the load(McKinney against OSU, Brown against OU). Should be a fun environment to be in on Saturday, hopefully both teams take care of business so there can be some real fun on Monday. wow, complicated name you chose. It's awesome.
  3. I agree with the thought that the Bears defense would struggle in slippery/icy/wet conditions but that cold weather won't affect them as much - especially the cold weather we should see on Sunday. NWS (who I'd trust over anyone else that I can check right now) has the expected high for Sunday at 34; game-time temps should be about the same and wind chills about 5-10 degrees cooler.
  4. The wind was fierce that day, my friend. I don't really remember Corey's HRs too well, though, since they both only brought the Cubs within a run. And Lee's should've gone out. :( Corey only hits solo shots. Duh. Yeah, I thought Lee's shot was gone too. And to bring it full circle, I sat within a section of you (and Mark?) at that game and never saw you guys.
  5. Obviously you weren't that little kid who Corey snubbed. Memories: - The inside-the-park HR in his rookie year (wearing #27). - The 2003 season until that awful July day. - The Pittsburgh 2-HR game (I called the second HR). - He hit 2 HRs in a mostly disappointing extra inning home loss to the Expos at Wrigley, but I was at the game. - Robbing Junior of that HR in Cincinatti. - Hitting the GW HR on Derrek Lee day this past season.
  6. Wow to Wazzou getting the nod over Cal. It won't be that way come March.
  7. .389/.486/.738/1.224 in 175 High-A PA's He then got promoted to AA where he had much less success (.687 OPS) in 113 PA's. He was 22 last year. And .337/.439/.708/1.147 in the AFL.
  8. Yeah, I was shocked with the U-Dub game. Washington is now 1-2 in Pac 10 play and has to go down to LA to play USC and UCLA this coming week. Cal also lost their first Pac 10 game.
  9. Yeah, not surprising after seeing the injury a few bajillion times (thanks for the replays, CBS).
  10. It was a bit late though, but not really dirty. It's a shame because Carson is one of those few Trojans that I like. This game is getting out of hand.
  11. Steve Smith had 14 catches for 169 yards last time these two teams played. As of now, looks like it will be mostly cloudy with temps in the upper 30s at game time.
  12. Yikes, Carson Palmer injured.
  13. Me too!
  14. My friend insisted on calling them the Montreal Elbs when we went to see an Expos-Dodgers game a few years back.
  15. Almost the same: 1. Delmon Young 2. Jeremy Hermida 3. Stephen Drew 4. Brandon Wood 5. Casey Kotchman 6. Lastings Milledge 7. Connor Jackson 8. Ian Stewart 9. Andy LaRoche 10. Daric Barton dkwg, BJ Upton already has fulfilled his ROY eligibility.
  16. At what level Craig? Those are outstanding numbers and peripherals. If the Cubs don't want to treat him seriously they should trade him to the A's. Also, do you know offhand what the average BABIP is? I thought it was around .330. High A Daytona with a brief stop at AA West Tenn.
  17. Hopefully their coaching staff thinks that too. :)
  18. Actually, I'm with Banedon. I want a rematch of Super Bowl XX, and I want the Bears to blow away the Patriots again.
  19. Oof, grazes in.
  20. Can you say helmet-to-helmet-induced fumble?
  21. Thanks Madden, I didn't realize that because the Jaguars center went to Princeton, he shouldn't snap badly.
  22. More throws that hit the refs, Brady.
  23. Moore was age-appropriate at high A last year (he was 21). He's just a month older than Brian Dopirak. I expect Scott will be at AA West Tenn.
  24. LaVar graduated from Penn State! Did he? Oh, well in that case... I hate it when they inteview people that don't know how to speak. I remember MNF went to his home and he had a chess room. No joke! Are you serious? Wow.
  25. Yes. I want the Giants to come to Chicago. LaVar is a great interviewee.
